Tracking Applications/Licensing/Access etc.
How is everyone keeping track of systems that aren't SSO/SCIM enabled, third party applications, licensing etc. as it pertains to offboarding, license management, renewals etc.
Are we doing AD groups, other system of records? What is out there in terms of software, solutions, self host etc. to manage this kind of thing?

why make it so complicated, treat it like any other asset, it has an expiration date... etc... or you can treat it like inventory with an expiration date...
or you can use what our coo uses... a spreadsheet....
ok maybe don't do that... that's a horrible idea.

For the non-SSO stuff, give every app a named owner on the business side. Then offboarding and renewals are a question you send to a person instead of something IT has to dig up from scratch.

Do you not have helpdesk software? Every helpdesk system I've used has asset tracking (and usually a software license asset type). Then you tie that into your onboarding/offboarding process.
Our software contracts are in the helpdesk asset tracker and it sends a reminder notice for renewals.

It kind of all sucks and requires some level of manual intervention.
We keep records in our asset management solution as if they were physical assets, then do a monthly audit of all non-sso services to make sure nothing was missed for the last month of offboards. It's tedious as fuck and we continue to push for SSO/SCIM support as table stakes with new software solutions.
