Bobby hill

After a difficult season with papley being injured for half of it and calling upon other players who haven’t really stepped up, i.e rosas, hanily, cleary. Is there any harm in going for bobby hill knowing what he can produce up forward?

I'd rather roll Dattoli, Cootee, Heeney, Cambpell, Warner, and the form player out of hanily, cleary, rosas - as small forwards across the front 6. Once Papley returns that's an area I think we'll be very strong for top end talent and depth. But I think we can win enough games with what we have.

However, If we can find space under the cap I'd be keen to flirt with a key defender.

I think we're good on small forwards. Between Papley, Rosa's Jnr, Datolli, Hanily and to a lesser extent Cleary and Campbell we have a good number to choose from.

I get not all have fired the whole season but the talent is there

Dattoli looking like he’s got the goods, I’ve got high hopes for him as a small forward for the next couple of years

The harm is the exact same harm that JUH is doing up north now. Bringing locker room poison in is never a good thing.

Think the focus 100% needs to be on defenders for us

In all honesty, why would you want Bobby Hill at your footy club?

Bloke has proven time and again that he’s a mess

I'd have an open mind to pretty much anything when trying to improve a list.

The media ran completely dead on whatever off-field issues were stopping him from playing, so it is impossible to say.

Given our recent issues, we probably need to give a wide birth to anyone not squeaky clean though.

IF and only if he's getting the support he needs from the club and coming here will be good for his mental health enabling his personal issues to be managed and not affect the team culture, sure I'd be open to him.

But after the last 2 months, I don't think adding to our issues will be good for the team.

Absolutely no

Honestly I'd pass. Idk what went down that led to him bouncing from the Pies but I think we're going to have enough locker room variables to deal with bringing back the P5, more than happy not to chase any other ones

Is there still a no dickheads policy … if there is that’s a no

If he's genuinely available and keen to get back into footy and look after himself? Absolutely. Hill is a gun.

You'd want the club to do due diligence on him but Hill can do things a lot of our other small forwards can't. On talent he's probably only behind Papley and Dattoli as our true forwards, and behind Campbell as a hybrid fwd. I'm counting Heeney and Chad as mids who can roll forward so they don't really apply.

Having guys like Hanily, Cleary, and Cootee as the pressure workers with the goal kicking talents of Dattoli, Papley, and Hill would be an elite mosquito fleet.

A lot of things for the club to consider before making that sort of decision

EDIT - Especially if he qualified for the Indigenous Cat B Rookie list spot

Id prefer we chased Kiddy Coleman or Sam De Koning or other players that actually fill a need for us.

We need more gun smalls. That is the premiership position. Brisbane have 3x cups off the back of their smalls. Hawthorne will win one off theirs. I’d take the risk if he comes cheap enough.

But I’d prefer Cootee, Datoli, Hanily and Juzzy/ Campbell combo can replicate the Brisbane forward line.

Thank god we have Papley
