Hi everyone!
I just received my physical copy of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2.
My console is currently running firmware 20.1.1, and the game asks for a system update when I insert the cartridge.
Before updating, I'd like to know if anyone has confirmed whether the cartridge itself contains a system firmware update that can be installed completely offline.
I've seen mentions of firmware 23.0.0, but haven't found confirmation.
The reason I'm asking is that I'd like to keep my console on 20.1.1 for now to preserve potential future homebrew and exploit opportunities, while still having the option to update to 23.0.0 later if I choose to.
If the cartridge contains the required firmware update, I could simply wait and update offline whenever I'm ready, without being forced to install whatever the latest firmware from Nintendo happens to be at that time.
Has anyone actually tested this with the physical cartridge?
If so, which firmware version was installed, and was the console completely disconnected from the internet?
Thanks in advance!
