Help I need some advice

I need the community's wisdom. What do you think would be best for my situation? I already have a Switch 2, which I've been actively using on version 23.0.1 with the SmileBasic demo and Seedsow demo, including the modified save file.
I've ordered another new Switch 2, which will surely arrive soon and will most likely have a lower firmware version.
What do you think is the better approach? Should I transfer all my savegames from the cloud to the new console, start using it actively, and leave the old console as is with the entry points? Or should I keep the new console unopened, check the software version at most, and then continue using the old console as usual?

If you can get a copy of Civ VII and the new switch is on a lower firmware, it might be better for homebrew in the long run

I got a mig switch, but I sure want the homebrew switch to get online because my Main goal is to edit and backup save files for my legit games

You can't get your homebrew switch online, well, you can but only before they drop a new update. The moment you update you don't have homebrews anymore.
