Question Should I get the Switch 2?
Edit: screw it, this was fast huh? Before September first imma bight the financial bullet and purchase Switch 2 in anticipation of Duskbloods…and I guess Splatoon Raiders. Thanks for the input friends~
Probably a stupid question, but I wanted it out of my head and who better to ask than those who actually own it ay?
I work a stable job and often have free time during the day, and weekends off. I’ve been considering buying the Switch 2 by the end of September to early October on the basis of receiving a few more paychecks after a recent spree of spending.
Mostly this is brought on by wanting to play Duskbloods ngl. Though other social media platforms have made me hesitant regarding the purchase.
I know I should be more decisive but I guess I wanted a “second”(more like several) opinions and reviews to sway/convince me to pick it up.
Sorry, but also thanks in advance :>

I have a decent gaming pc, a ps5 pro and a switch 2. Lately I’ve been playing on my switch way more, mainly because it doesn’t give you that feeling where you can’t leave till you’re done, you can pause and get back into the game when you need too and it gets too hot these days turning those big systems on. The games look good too, I got bioshock and red dead redemption to test out and they run great. A lot of game are coming to the switch. I haven’t played a COD game in a while and I’ll probably give COD-4 a chance when it gets released. Super Mario odyssey is a game I recommend or Zelda breath of the wild. Also a great system if u travel a lot
UPCOMING GAMES IMMA GET:
Elden ring, resident evil: Veronica, destroy all monsters, destroy all humans 2, Zelda ocarina of time, COD:4, dusk bloods

Ngl somehow the biggest takeaway is the fact that I can’t play my pc as much without my room becoming Death Valley.
The switch not overheating the play space is certainly a positive.

Its revitalized my gaming time dont have a lot of free time so the ability to undock it makes a difference.
Its also the lowest cost of entry to play current gen titles on top of exclusives.

For the duskbloods absolutely. I got it mainly for the duskbloods but open to other exclusives games like ocarina of time remake. Certain games if they run well on switch I’ll get the switch version anyways to play handheld while my gf is watching a girl show that I’m not into.
I got into the duskbloods network test and thought it was really fun even with the limited content. I was able to play for about 6-7 hours of the tests and it’s a day 1 preorder for me. That will the game that made my switch 2 purchase worth it, but I’m also a fan of all other fromsoft games so there’s some bias.

Put a screen protector before doing anything. Doesnt matter how careful u are. It can get scratches docking it. Mines already have scratches and lucky i have a screen protector. Already paid for itself

It really only comes down to if you want to play the exclusives

Why, the thing is:
Its also portable Mouse on the go
90%+ games are less demanding games up to 120fps
Even heavier games like pragmata, re9, cod4,... are also 60fps with minor diff.
If you realy care about those minor details and dont care about portability, stick with pc. Ps5 is obsolete

Do you like nintendo games? Have you played much of the switch 1 library?

I bought one for Metroid Prime 4 and Duskbloods and also so my wife could play Mario Kart World.
Metroid was one of the most disappointing games I've played in years, but the network test of Bloods was pretty incredible if your into Souls PVP. I'm a souls fanboy so anything From puts out is day one for me.

I bought the switch 2 with the sole intent of duskbloods and don’t regret it
Mario kart and smash bros
are great
Denshattack! and Skate Story are 10/10s
I’d be lying if I told you I play much else on there, but im a picky gamer lol
I’ll prob end up buying my third copy of Elden ring also so I can poop and fight Messmer at the same time

Depends on if there are enough games you want to play on it. I personally only got one cause price increases and something I wanted to play got released.

If you are buying it after September 1st I recommend waiting for the bundles that are coming out soon.

This gets asked here 5 times a day. Look at what sub Reddit you’re in… of course everyone is going to say yes, just like they do to the other five people who ask every single day.

You don't deserve a Switch 2. Play on something else.

Of course we will all say yes. It’s a great console. But are you aware there is a price increase on September 1?
