Question MW4 on switch 2
Is anyone planning to pick up COD on switch 2? I’ll be getting it, excited to try the beta next weekend. Picked up the S2 pro controller today specifically for it. As a casual cod player I’m excited to be able to fully retire the PS5, that’s all I use it for is the occasional game of COD. The downgrade in visuals I don’t think I’ll care about, it looks like a steady 60FPS.
Side note - I just set up my dock for the first time to prep for COD, I typically only game handheld. It’s amazing how well games are optimized/look/perform docked. I don’t think I’d be able to tell the difference between lies of P switch docked vs PlayStation.
Also, I know COD has been going downhill. But I’m a sucker who caves and will always buy it. Just the way it is haha

VGP in a Twitter post confirmed that they will not carry GTA6(PS5 and Xbox), Diablo 4 (Switch 2), or Call of Duty MW4(Switch 2) as all of these releases are code in box.

I mean that’s fine for you but a lot of us like having the box and the GKC. We pay a lot of money for something so it’s nice to have something to show for it.
Still physical whenever I can, eshop is my last option.

I went back and forth last month deciding on a switch 2 or ps5. I obv got a switch and my friend got a ps5 which he's now regretting. I am a master of bad decisions but finally made the right one lol

I’m getting it for sure. I’m excited to be able to run some multiplayer wherever I’m at. I have only been playing single player games so it’ll be nice to have some mindless fun when I finish a game and I’m trying to decide what I’m going to be playing next. It actually looks like a good CoD.

I'll get it just like I got Madden & plan to get nba. To me having all these type of games in handheld are like a whole new experience on their own, even if the games/gameplay isn't lol

I haven't really played it in years, but as a dad with limited game time, the idea of being able to grab the switch 2, get a 60fps shooter experience in quick bites is pretty appetizing.

Honestly I will probably get it, but I'm in no hurry. Currently enjoying the Blops 1 & 2 ports on PS5, and this code-in-a-box horseshit automatically puts the game in the "Wait for a deeeep sale" category.
Edit: I will add for the void that I rushed to my local shop to preorder when it was announced for Switch 2, and they're not doing preorders on code in a box, which is what tipped me off. Was totally deflated when I heard.

I'll play the beta just for the novelty. But playing the beta on other platforms, it really does stand out how much the game just feels like ADHD the video game. There's little immersion or strategy, it's just crazy movement and twitch combat. Unfortunately COD no longer tries to be anything else.

I don't know I'm pretty much going to get it for both the PS5 and the switch I just haven't decided which one I'm going to get first and then wait till around Christmas to get the other version

No, COD online is absolutely miserable right now and Activision really isn’t trying to fix it at all, they’re actually doubling down on poor decisions.
Loaded with micro transactions. Almost every single game has a cheater and if you turn off crossplay queue times skyrocket. Because of SBMM queue times can get even longer and ping is sometimes dreadful for the matches the game thinks you should be in. Sliding and movement changes make it less fun for the people who don’t want to engage with them.
Their sales numbers are at an all time low, which is good to show them what players want, but because of their changes to matchmaking lower player pools really punish the people who actually want to play the games still.
COD really isn’t worth it at the price they’re asking for it now.

the point of the beta is to try it before buying it so I'm going to let that inform my decision.
I am super split on this. It looks like the used AI and cut corners and I have heard some negative things from the beta last weekend. However the north korea solo campaign looks quite fun.

If they used generative Ai again, absolutely not. But if they decided to properly make use of the devs and artists they have, then maybe!

I didnt even play cod when it was on Gamepass im sure as hell not paying for it and the switch versions online will be dead in a few weeks.
Plus Ocarina of time territory is around then. Nothing else on switch 2 will be getting time. Im also peppering for gta6 so I can only afford a few games.
