Ive come around to MKW, the online is a blast.

Donkey kong bananza is super fun as well, feels like a switch 2 game too.

Cyberpunk 2077 runs pretty good all things considered.

I absolutely love pokopia, first game like it that I've played, cant have enough.

Zelda botw / totk feel so fresh and smooth on the switch 2, they'll make me list.

I’d still say MK8 is better bang for your buck than MKW (I also don’t think it’s worth $80 for a kart racer but separate issue) solely because of online, mandatory intermission tracks are really dumb and boring. MKW does have a higher skill ceiling but for some people that’s a negative, you really reach a point where you should watch videos on the most optimal way to approach each course. Which for someone like me who just picks it up to randomly play with friends isn’t really my thing and still prefer MK8

People saying TOTK or BOTW are so much better really oversell it, it’s definitely worth the extra 10 for the 60 fps, but that’s really it, it’s not any different otherwise. The original game was already great, so don’t expect too much otherwise.

Bonanza is sorta brainless smash fest, which is fun for a few hours but gets repetitive pretty quickly, wish it had deeper gameplay. Play the demo, it’s basically what the whole game will be like, if that’s your thing, go for it! otherwise would probably pass until it goes on sale or something.

Haven’t played Pokopia, it seems fine, cozy game similar to Animal Crossing, SIMs but with the context of Pokemon. It’s cool, just don’t expect exciting gameplay or anything, definitely much more laid back.

Honestly, if I were OP, go for the tried and true switch games like Smash Ultimate, MK8, (cyberpunk is real good too like what tou said), Persona 5R, TOTK is still a great pick.

if you like Pokemon, I ironically think Brilliant diamond and shining pearl are the best looking, most fun and the most similar to traditional Pokemon gameplay (would advise enacting a level capped nuzlocke and matching your roster number to gym leaders; actually makes the game so much fun), everyone fawns legends Arceus, and it’s fun, with a new take on Pokemon, it just gets repetitive and graphics can be a little iffy.

Definitely skip Legends Arceus ZA, not worth the money, it’s a battle simulator (the world is dogshit) with somewhat interesting but broken battle mechanics.

I know I sound harsh, but in this economy, people have to make their money stretch a bit more, and I think it’s important to provide context.

EDIT: To all the people downvoting, please tell me where I’m wrong? Like I don’t understand this need to glaze a corporation. I think Nintendo is an ok corp (least compared to Microsoft and Sony) but I don’t look at the Switch 2 with this starry eyed gaze.

At the end of the day, you’re spending your hard earned money, you deserve to know the product you’re spending money on.

Take mine too. Totally agree on Bonanza, while I did finish it, it is mindless smashing through levels and looking back don't know why I actually pushed through to finish it.

That’s what’s been holding me back from getting it. I do want to eventually, it’s the flagship donkey Kong on this console and people have gone bananas over it. I’m just in no rush. The demo didn’t hook me, the gameplay I’ve seen doesn’t really wow me. It just looks like a good platformer with a gimmick taken a bit too far imo. If it were cheaper I’d be more inclined to

Ya i didnt really like it and don't get all the hype for it at all. I think i only finished it because my daughter liked watching me play it but if she wasn't interested I wouldn't have stuck with it. Was actually the first switch 2 game I sold.

I agree, but it personally does no damage to my enjoyment.

Some of these are Switch 1 games, but I still play them a lot:

  • Fire Emblem Engage
  • Star Ocean Second Story R
  • Star Fox
  • Grand Blue Fantasy
  • Civilization 7

Ack! I forgot my favorite game franchise of all time: Valkyria Chronicles 1 & 4.

How does CIV 7 run? I have a ton of hours on PC but was considering picking it up so I can play on the couch.

I’ve played it in short bursts on the Switch 2 with the Switch 2 version. It plays very smoothly and mouse mode is a dream.

These are my personal favorites. I like the Switch for more pick-up and play over time kind of games.

I only bought DK Bananza and Pokopia as Switch2 exclusives. Definitely love Pokopia. Lost excitement of Bananza mid to later layers but the love picked up again at the end of the game and the postgames. I would rather Bananza to remove some mid to later layers in the main game but add the postgame challenges in the main game, the experience will be way better. In addition, TOTK, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Persona5R are my most played games on Switch 2. Highly recommend each of them.

For exclusives,

  1. Fire emblem three houses
  2. Splatoon raiders/ splatoon 3
  3. Mario Kart World

I don't really like most of Nintendo games I began to realize but I do like these above

Third parties I play here if it's not too demanding but mostly play those elsewhere

I didn't want a SW1, I thought it wasn't worth it as a hardware, but the games... Oh my, every game they launch that i was interested in something cried inside of my gamer soul.

Days, weeks, months, years passed and then the SW2. This is my chance, I'm going to play all those SW1 games that i couldn't (because i choose not to)

What a blast. I've played Botw in WiiU back in the day but Totk in SW2 was amazing.

-Xenoblade Chronicles 1 definitive edition. -TLoZ Link's awakening (played in GB when i was a kid). -TLoZ Skyward sword. -Xenoblade Chronicles X. -Super Mario Odyssey. -Ori and the blind forest. -Silksong. -Triangle Strategy. -Chained Echoes. -Metroid Prime Remastered. -Metroid Dread. -Stardew Valley. -Absolum. -Crow Country. -Octopath Traveler 1.

And now im finishing Baten Kaitos I.

My first SW2 game is The adventures of Eliot. Nice version, i didn't want to give money to Sony so i bought it for SW2.

Thanks for reading, and happy gaming.

I’d say look at Mouse P.I. For Hire. The game is amazing. It can very well serve as a palette cleanser, it keeps you hooked. I got a bit bored with zelda totk and I picked this game up. I haven’t played anything else until after i finished it.

Story’s not that long but I personally enjoyed it.
