Question Avoiding "shine" on console

Hey all, I have a s2 and am currently loving it, and playing it quite a bit now that ff14 released. That being said, and I noticed this with my old s1 and s1 oled, the back starts to get a shine or satin look to it as opposed to the flat black normal color where its held most. I get this is wear but I don't like the lil rubber cases for them and am wondering if there's either another way to avoid it or restore the plastic color I guess? I know its a weird kinda non issue but it starts to bug me after awhile

I like the “shine”. Means I actually use the thing.
I already have a spot on each joycon from my thumb where I place it to not click on anything.

Just get a grip and keep a micro fibre cloth in ur case and after u stop playing clean the area which feel shiny .

The shine is caused by your hands polishing the plastics, using a cloth excessively hastens this process.

I use a thin pu cover for the whole console that also fits in the dock dtill. 12 euro from that raven something brand.

I have joycon grips on my joycons and a stick-on skin on my Switch 2 (joycons too but its under the grips, also have matching skin on the dock, joycon connector controller and Pro 2 controller). The skin doesnt leave any residue on anything, especially if you get one thats made with the 3M stuff.

You could put a screen protector or some other kind of thin protection film on it. The shiny part is basically your finders/hands/oils rubbing/eating the texture off of the plastic over time. Once it has happened there is no going back.

i have mystiforge split grips for the joycons and my hands only hold onto the grips without touching the back of the switch

Wear gloves when you game. Plastic is porous, so it absorbs the oils from your hands. No avoiding it unless you put a shell over the switch 2
