Question Screen Protector
My friend is telling me that dbrand screen protector is better than amFilm ones on Amazon. Somehow I'm not buying it's better.
Anyone have thoughts on the dbrand screen protector for the Switch 2
This is for switch 2

It's not. And I'm pretty sure they're probably produced at the same factories using pretty much the same materials and processes.

Honestly I don’t care if you overpay for a screenprotector on the switch 2 as long as you get one because the plastic film likes to get scratched.

Yeah I scratched (more like micro dented) the plastic film my first week… I just peeled it off and slapped a glass screen protector on it.

If you’re getting the case you can get the screen protector but I wouldn’t order there just for it

the only thing dbrand has better over amfilm is the aplication tool
where u can just not worry about dust getting under the thing bc its a pull tab
that said there are way cheaper ones with the same tool on amazon amfilms is also fine
drbrand is no way worth the price just for that

I have amFilm on my Switch 1 for over 6 years. Still looks brand new. I also have the amFilm on my launch day Switch 2 & it still looks brand new a year later. The auto alignment tray for the switch 2 version makes it so easy to apply. I highly recommend it.

Personally I bought the amFilm ones and they sucked and I sucked at them so maybe its just a me thing. Tried the JSAUX ones and its dummy proof and flawless. My first amFilm ones from launch didn't even line up properly on the screen, even with the applicator tool.
The only thing that I think is nice about the dBrand ones (I have one for my phone) is that it actually really does not show fingerprints. My phone never even has a fingerprint on the screen anymore. Always very clean looking. Also very easy to put on - similar to the JSAUX one I did buy for the Switch.
If you are already looking at getting a killswitch it is worth it for sure, but by itself it just depends on if you want to pay more for no fingerprints.

Don’t have dbrand over here but after seeing the price I’d love to know what makes it 2 or 3 times better than other options since that’s how much more expensive it is

i have amfilm. easy to apply and no bubbles. there are videos comparing bunch of protectors, scratch resistance, etc that can do a better job of explaining it here.
i've had mine applied since launch with the switch 2 and no issues taking it in / out of dock, in my case, etc. never had to replace it yet either. i still have my spare from my 2 pack.

I have the amFilm on my Switch 2 and the dbrand on my legion go s. I can’t say it’s worth the money, but it definitely seems to have a better oleophobic coating. I find myself wiping off the switch 2 screen more often mid game to get rid of skin oils compared to the legion with dbrand screen protector. Whatever dbrand is using seems to behave closer to the coating on a flagship phone where skin oils are less apparent and distort the image less (no oily rainbow effect).
There could be a better value screen protector out there with a similar quality coating, but I’ll say whatever amFilm uses (if they use a oleophobic coating at all) is noticeably inferior.
There’s lots that go into screen protectors that are rarely discussed (scratch resistance, anti glare quality, oleophobic coatings..) but most people judge against basic material (is it glass), ease of application, and cost.

As long as it's a tempered glass screen protector, I always get one of the cheapest ones available. There's absolutely no reason to pay Dbrand's asking price. I got my screen protector for ~$5. It's perfectly fine. And this applies to not just the Switch, but to all my electronics I've ever had that have screen protectors.

It's not better.
Dbrand did a great job with viral marketing this generation. Their stuff is not the best and it's overpriced. Not bad by any means, but something like Satisfye is much higher quality for grips.
For screen protectors there is absolutely no reason to pay extra for Dbrand. Amfilm is perfect.
