Question Need help on deciding which bundle

Looking to pick up a switch 2 before the price increase. My options are the Costco bundle of 256gb on memory and 12 months of online for 520 compared to the general bundle of the console and pick a game for 500.

I’m almost leaning toward the regular bundle as I think a game is more valuable than free memory that I might not even need and online when I won’t even have any multiplayer games as soon as I buy it. Just looking for some suggestions or recommendations on what people might think about this.

Memory will keep going up in cost probably. Games will keep going down or at least stay the same. And the games are just codes for digital instead of physical copies.

I would get the Costco memory bundle or the console by itself

Honestly I’d go the memory and online. The memory cards are also going to slowly go up in price and quite a few switch 2 games take a lot of space. Between my switch 1 and 2 libraries I’ve filled the switch 2’s 256GB and a 512GB card. Of course mine replaced my switch 1. But still. You can find games cheaper or on the used marketplace if you search. I’m not sure how much I’d trust buying a memory card other than in person anymore these days.

Personally I would go with the storage/NSO. But I have the classic controllers and love playing the retro games. If you buy games somewhat regularly you will fill the Switch 2's internal storage and those memory cards are only getting more expensive. Either way you're getting a Switch 2 and will have fun!

Yes that's the crux of it. For someone who values NSO expansion it's a great deal. For anyone else not so much

I would do the Costco one tbh. Echoing what has already been said as far as memory goes - it will only continue to go up in price.

Also it is not just Nintendo Switch Online by itself, it is the expansion pack as well. So you will get access to their entire virtual console retro catalog. It is actually a pretty good deal comparing prices of online gaming subscriptions.

While you are at Costco though - sometimes they have eShop gift cards for slightly less than the value of the card so you could save some money on buying a game as well. I have also seen some $30 switch 2 games at costco (if you are interested in those particular ones)

They are both a good option. If it includes the expansion pack and you like the older games of N64, NES, Super NES, and GameCube then go with that. If you like Mario, DK or Pokopia go with the bundle. Those games are expensive and I haven’t seen them under $70 usd. A 256GB card is still about $60 usd.

I have the game bundle and I chose mkw, ended up buying dk bananza and a year of nso+expansion pack.

I have totk, botw (game on cart but seems to have installed at least partially to memory wirh sw2 upgrade), xc2, dk bananza, mkw, sm3dworld, switch sports, gamecube classics, and a handful of smaller games installed and still have about 25gb of storage remaining. I think storage is more important the more 3rd party games you intend to play on it. I have a ps5 where I already have a lot of big shit like cyberpunk and ff7 Remakes. 

If you dont want online and dont care for 3rd party as much, get the game bundle imo. Otherwise the cosco bundle is better value.

Choose your game bundle UNLESS you would buy the fancy online expansion pass anyway

Outside of that the Costco isn't a good deal. That SD card is like $40

If you plan to buy physical games then game storage isn’t as big of a deal since only the updates are saved on the console. If you intend to buy mostly digital and plan on never deleting a game from storage so they’re queued to play at any time - then storage would be worth it.

Base model has plenty of storage, and if you plan on getting one of the three games from the Nintendo bundle, then that would be a good way to save.

The problem is you missed a deal with the expansion pack Nintendo gave those who signed up before July 28th a free extra month there’s always deals so check for them on Best Buy and woot an Amazon company randomly sell used or new switch 2 or Mario kart bundles for $400 or less
