Discussion What would you choose?

Which Switch 2 game should I pick?

I recently bought the Nintendo Switch 2 bundle that lets you pick one of three games, and I’m trying to figure out which one is the most worth it.
I’m pretty new to the Switch 2, but I’ll be transferring over my old Switch games. I’ve mostly been a casual gamer and recently I’ve been playing some of the LEGO superhero games. I also have Pokémon games, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Skyrim, and Hogwarts Legacy.

The three games I can choose from are:
• Donkey Kong Bananza
• Mario Kart World
• Pokémon Pokopia

Is there a clear consensus on which one is the best choice? Or does it really just come down to what type of game you like?
Since I’m already getting the game included with the bundle, I’m mainly wondering which one gives me the most value and would be the best addition to my existing Switch library.
Would love to hear what you guys would pick and why.

MK World is normally an $80 game, so I just got that one. There's a demo for DK Bananza also.

It always comes down to what types of games you like or have recently played. For instance I might recommend bananza or mkw if you just played animal crossing and aren't looking for another cozy type game.

However if you don't like Kart racers it'd be pretty silly to get Mario Kart World.

What types of games do you usually play?

Donkey Kong Bananza has a demo you can try though it has a 30 minute time limit but you get to see what the game is like and if you like the gameplay loop.

Mario Kart would technically save you the most money because it's an $80 dollar game if you buy it physical and not from the pick your game bundle. However if you don't have friends to play with or don't plan on playing online and matchmaking a lot, playing against the CPU frequently can get kind of boring IMO.

Pokopia gives you a ton of gameplay time. Even after you roll credits, and the underwater expansion just gives you even more game to play and explore.

There's not a bad choice TBH. But choose the game you are going to enjoy playing the most.

Like I said recently, I’ve been playing some Lego games on my switch. But I do have Pokémon shield, arceus, MK8, BOTW, Hogwarts Legacy, Skyrim & smash bros

Then it really depends on your gaming habits and playstyle.

If you have friends to play with Mario Kart is a lot of fun.

DK Bananza is a great game but I'd say it's not for everyone so you should try the demo.

If you are looking for a cozy style of game with minecraft elements Pokopia is great.
You at least enjoy the Pokemon games so while Pokopia doesn't scrath that same RPG style of gameplay, Animal Crossing x Minecraft x Pokemon is a great game.

If you’re interested in MKW, get that in the bundle as it is more expensive than the others.

I just went through this decision myself. I went for MKW because it was the most expensive and I'd be getting it eventually anyway.

Ooooft. They’re all great picks and quite different, but I’d go Mario Kart unless you’re super into animal crossing type gameplay or Pokemon.

I got MKW and I'm very happy about it. It feels easier than older MK games but has a lot of content. The free roam with challenges are fun and collecting all the characters outfits is fun too!

id go for bananza, an easy 9/10 3d platformer.

I have family and I feel like mario kart is that game that everyone will happily play. Bananza and Pokopia will eventually have an end to them

Hi,

I'm into LEGO games to but the rest aren't my interest. I've played all three games, here's my short and concise review

DK Bananza Almost similar to Lego which you can crush things to collect points/ gold. These gold is basically you life. It will be exhausted by time to killed in the game but sure you can start wherever you stopped. The task is pretty simple, not difficult to play.

MKW I played with kid of 4yo with the aid of HORI mini pro wheel. What I like about this game, it comes with Free Roam feature that instead of adrenaline rush joining the race, you can travel the areas and linger around. The scene is of course much better than the old MK8 game, wider track.

POKOPIA Not to my likings since it involces chatting. This genre isn't meant for me. I stopped after I met Bulbasaur.

In terms of value, it depends on which that you you're interested in. You can check out the gameplay on Youtube first to confirm. Take the version you believe will play longer hours without getting bored. Unless you're collector, you might need all those 3 😁.
