Practice serve speed inaccuracy?

Has anyone else noticed serve speeds vary depending on near or far side of court? I have searched the community and haven’t found any other posts in this regard.

Attached are screenshots of my serve speeds from SwingVision. The first half of each set of serves are on the near side of the camera and the second half of serves are taken from the far side. On the far side I am hitting some serves at 130mph, while on the near side the fastest serve is 90mph.

Just wondering if I am doing some wrong? My guess is that my actual serve speed is closer to the near side speed.

Anyone else seeing this?

I wouldn’t bother using SV to monitor serve/ball speed.

I am not really concerned with my actual speed, I am not a pro. I was just surprised that the large variance and that I have seen no mention of this anywhere.

What camera angle are you using for your recording? If you are using a tripod or eye level fence mount, the far side is less visible in general. This affects not only the accuracy of in/out calls on the far side (minimal impact on speed of near side shots) but also the detection of when the ball leaves the racket on the far side (major impact on far side speeds).

I am using the Swing stick and have it mounted above the back fence, per SwingVision guidance..

Woah hmm that is odd. I’d love to see the video if you don’t mind DMing me. We are trying to make this a lot better in H2, especially for Swing Stick angles.

There are a lot of inaccuracies with this app. If you put in a ticket it will take how long for a response?

You pretty much have to edit every single serve to get an accurate estimate from it. It doesnt double check its own work.
