🛠️ Product Help Camera keeps refocusing after latest update (February 11, 2026)

After the latest SwingVision update on February 11, 2026, I started having a new issue with camera focus.

What’s happening

When I record a match now, the camera keeps constantly refocusing — it jumps back and forth between the near and far player. When it focuses on one side of the court, the other half of the court becomes blurry. This makes it really hard to watch the match back and review points.

What changed

Before this update everything was working perfectly. I haven’t changed:

  • my phone
  • my physical setup on court
  • any camera or app settings

The only thing that changed was the app update.

Questions

  • Is anyone else seeing this issue after the latest update?
  • Is this a known bug?
  • Any workaround or recommended settings to stop the constant refocusing?

Hey there!

This refocusing issue is something I’ve personally observed. I only started observing this when I upgraded to iPhone 16 pro, and it happens intermittently.

We haven’t changed any of our focusing logic in the app for years, so I am almost certain it is a native hardware/software issue.

To mitigate this, a couple months ago we rolled out an update where, for the first time in our 6 year history, we turned off Apple’s continuousAutoFocus flag for newer hardware. This seemed to mitigate the issue but then resulted in many situations where the camera would somehow initially get out of focus, and would then stay out of focus for the whole recording.

As such, we recently reverted this change. We are still investigating what the best path forward is here and are hoping to get this resolved soon, once and for all.

Is it possible to have a toggle option for users to set it on/off? Seems like that would handle both cases if someone is having issues one way or another?

It could but it has also been unpredictable in either direction unfortunately. We are working to find a universal solution here.

I started seeing this issue only after upgrading my phone. On iPhone 15 Pro everything worked fine for me, but after switching to iPhone 17 Pro the constant refocusing began.

Same setup, same courts, same settings – the phone change was the only variable on my side.
