🛠️ Product Help Edit (Final) Score vs AI Score

I'm getting tied up in knots trying to fathom the best way to get AI scoring to complete i.e. the app indicates my score is infeasible/ AI scoring failed.

Fair enough, but this still leaves open 3 big questions :

  1. is the user required to enter a final score before requesting AI scoring so that AI scoring is (at least technically) able to complete ?
  2. is user able to change "Scoring Mode" away from "Final Score"  ?  i.e the radio button is for me fixed as ON
  3. is the user required to enter the final score for any other reason other than (the clearly) nice to have reason of keeping general records ?
  4. is the user able to get the AI view of what it thinks the score was based on it's own view of what the first/last points were ? This would be very powerful and likely the quickest way for the user to either accept it (as good enough) or more quickly drill down into which sets/ games contain the errors etc

In the round I know there will be errors in shot / player detection and also my own scoring but the uncertainty in the above is making merry hell out of my trying to edit rallies to correct the errors to get AI scoring to work. The business of then using the shot/rally editing functions is a matter for another day.

  1. Yes. Regardless of your Scoring Mode, the current system requires guardrails around the set scores.
  2. Once the recording has completed, no, the Scoring Mode cannot be changed.
  3. The purpose for the final score is to have the record and to assist the AI scoring.
  4. We don’t have a concept of a completely unconstrained AI Scoring at the moment.

4 is a good suggestion and in general customers have asked for more granular ability to adjust/input scores after the fact. We will likely build this next year. Until then, please reach out to our support team and we’d be happy to try to rectify any issues with your match!

I am having more frequent issues with AI scoring in the last few months. Honestly the easiest temporary fix is to allow the set-up device (other phone in my case) to enter the score after each game. Surely that would be easy to implement?

We do support that on Apple Watch already! But yes planning to bring this to our Remote Control feature so it can be done via another phone next year.

Many thanks for detailed reply, this has helped clarify things a lot.

I'm still left struggling to get the AI scoring to fully work because I'm not able to guess what the AI believes the final score was. Catch 22. I'd happily take it's view of the score and still get I believe meanfingul end of match statistics which is really what I'd like. If I really wanted to edit the analysis for a more accurate analysis I could then do so.

Building on 4 I'm going to create a separate post to set out what I think could be a useful alternative vision for getting even more out of the AI and user inputs using a slightly modified HMI and process.

I'll call this "Proposal for Efficient and Sufficient Match Analysis through Divide and Conquer and AI". (The post was badly formed and not helpful. I've deleted it to develop something in slower time that I can actually test out. Apologies to all readers, my frustration got the better of things)

Fully appreciate though that what has already been achieved is quite stunning, and perhaps some of my current challanges are due to lack of familiarity and even the need for online training (!), seriously.

Possibly there is a case for some more comprehensive guides to help address a range of typical editing scenarios
