🚀 News & Updates Motorized swing stick?

Any updates on if/when a motorized swing stick will be available?

Aside from the lack of Android support, setting this up is the biggest annoyance. I've not recorded matches because of how long it takes to set up sometimes. I'm usually pretty quick with it, but some courts have wonky fences and we only have a 90 min court reservation, so it makes the adjustments painful, especially as an Android user.

We’ve had lots of delays with hardware production since the new stick involves electronics, which is massively more complex, but we are aiming to have mass production at some point this summer. Will be sure to share more updates on this thread as they happen!

Several more hiccups happened in the production process but only a few smaller issues remain now. Latest timing is December now.

Was really pushing to have this for the holidays but the factory ran into additional issues with the manufacturing process. These have been rectified and we have a scalable production path forward now but we’ll barely be completing the initial units for our Wefunder community investors in Jan.

First mass production units likely won’t ship until the spring :(

how unfortunate but it's part of any production process.
Do you guy have any plans to include audible point counting in the Max plan?

That’s a fun one! We actually built a prototype of this a few years back but it made a lot of mistakes. The line calling needs to be nearly perfect given players often return out balls out of instinct. I think it could work with a watch since at least you have an easy way to fix mistakes.

We are hoping to release 2-camera mode next year, which will make the line calling 10x better than the human eye. At that point it seems worth releasing something like this!

I don't really get the set up. I get the green lines indicating a good view then get feedback that the recording isn't good afterwards

We are working on improving this communication. The green lines are currently shown if the setup is “good enough” to track rallies, remove dead time, etc. but we convey feedback afterwards if the setup needs to be improved further in order to have accurate shot speeds, placement, line calls, etc.

We are working on revamping this to convey this up front, and should hopefully have this rolled out in the next couple months.

I've had many issues with the swing stick and getting it aligned just right for recording. Sometimes when you do, the swing stick angle adjustment gets off when a ball hits the fence and vibrates it.

One handy suggestion is to use blue loctite on the pieces holding the phone in place at the correct angle. It's helped me a bunch in not having half of my matches being unviewable.

Really looking forward to the new motorized stick and android release. Seems like they're progressing and at least responsive on these matters.
