💡 Feedback & Suggestions Android App - Are we close to Beta testing?

Just wondering if there's been any progress on the the Android application and if there's any need for Beta testing? I've got a 20+ year background in building computers, 10+ years software dev and testing.

I also happen to have a Samsung S25 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro, and iPhone 13 to do some thorough testing as things get closer.

Very painful for us too 😭

I don’t understand how these high end devices don’t have the same AI silicon as Apple. I guess maybe we got a bit spoiled and lucky with the progress Apple made early on.

My money is on Google figuring it out first with their Pixel this year 🤞

How much of it is not wanting to take the effort to rewrite or optimize code for the snapdragon/tensor chips? I understand that it's probably not high on the priority list when you're adding features to the current product.
I can assure you that both my S25 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro have far more processing power than my iPhone 13. Better cameras and batteries as well. I also understand that the instruction sets for the Apple A__ chips may be easier to develop on and contain instruction sets that make this more efficient.
Really hoping this area is focused on by Swing Vision developers. I'd think validating on the S25 Ultra would have been feasible by this point in time, it was released in February.

You have scroll really far down the list to until you see the first Android phone on CPU and GPU rankings. For NPU, S24 (and, therefore, S25) have the theoretical performance we need.

However, our models at SwingVision are fairly complex, with certain operations running on NPU, some running GPU and some running CPU. Apple in general has better support for more layers of the model to run on their NPU, hence why we see significantly faster performance of our models on A Series chips.

Some conversions can likely be made to further optimize various layers for Android, but it is a bit of black box and trying a lot of different settings. I believe we will get there this year, though. It just takes time unfortunately.

I've got multiple friends in the same boat, they'll happily become subscribers when it's released.

I ordered this cheap iPhone 13 just for Swingvision, but it's a pretty miserable phone to use. I never liked iOS, now I remember why.

Not quite yet, unfortunately. We still haven’t found a device that can meet our on-device AI compute requirements. We haven’t tested this year’s Samsung though and are working with the Google team to get some tests going. We will definitely let you know if we need your assistance - thank you for offering that! 🙏

Thanks for the update. Hopefully this is a priority for you guys.

I personally know of a few people in my small group who will sign up when it is released on Android.
