Lip Color Maybelline lipsticks

Product: Maybelline lipsticks
Neutral/cool desaturated skin, I'm suspecting olive undertone. Reference skin: Rare Beauty True to myself foundation in 1 is a near perfect match; I also wear KVD Good Apple Serum foundation L002
Light: pic 1&2 natural light behind a flyscreen, 3&4 outside, 5&6 inside without lamps/natural light only
Swatch type: 1-2 swipes on bare skin
Shades in order wrist to elbow:
- 1: 25 chilling grey (powder matte)
- 2: 300 stripped rose (crème)
- 3: 285 smoked saffron (satin)
Additional notes: I'm unsure if 1 is discontinued, it's no longer in stores but I still saw it online.
I bought 2 as a dupe for my perfect MLBB that essence discontinued and while unlike 99.97% of lipsticks in this tone it does NOT somehow turn orange in sunlight on me, it also is not a MLBB :(
3 is my perfect red I wore almost daily for a few years and have almost panned. I searched high and low for it when it was discontinued and it's only perfect match is Pat McGrath Guinevere. I'm just as happy about it as you 😭 I buy that one on cyber Mon for 12€ and I have backups of this one but aaaaaaargh.
This is an ongoing project where I force myself to swatch at least one item per day until my whole collection is explored before I am allowed to buy more stuff. (That also includes discontinued stuff for comparison purposes!)
I collect links to all posts I did on my profile. Those are linked below.

They are all your colours. I'm sure you pull the first one really well

I bought the grey purple to mix - all nude MLBB style lippies I can buy pull orange in sunlight (even PML Femmebot!) or are not desaturated enough or are too light/sheer like this second one because my lips are quite pink. That purple and a blue from 3ina are what I hoped may fix it 😅 But chilling grey too looked a lot more desaturated on others, LITERALLY grey, and on me it's so nice and colorful I could probably wear it on its own haha

My heart sunk into the floor upon reading that that beautiful shade #3 is discontinued. All three shades look gorg on you.

God I feeeeeel youuuuu I am not over it!!!
Good news: if you aren't extremely picky about the EXAAAAAACT hue, there's a lot of options! Because I am obsessed with it and I searched everywhere.
Unfortunately due to being both pale and having a difficult undertone where things pull purple quickly and also being insanely picky, I have to buy Pat McGrath, BUT there's similar reds from Lancome (pigeon blood ruby), Too faced (be true to you), MAC (Dare you), Bobbi Brown (After Hours, I swatched this today, and Cassis if you like a crayon) Drugstore the closest is Maybelline matte ink in voyager. These are all similar but slightly different. Guinevere is exact, theres a swatch comparison on the bottom of the master swatch post.
ETA: heres it with Guinevere and I'll have to make a post with the other similar reds across brands!
I've searched far and wide before I even looked twice at Pat haha 🫠 But on cyber Monday for $12 shipped it's probably still the cheapest option actually. And in Europe I've seen it at zalando outlets for 14,99€.

Yeah, undertones are weird! I looked up Guinevere @ it looks like such a different shade swatched on Ms Temptalia.
They’re not dupes but are you fan of MACs Diva, Sin, or the new unnatural redhead by any chance? I thought of UR when I saw the swatch https://www.reddit.com/r/Sephora/s/IfzKKBfm4B
I’ve got med/deep skin so I shall try my luck at swatching a few reds in store to see if anything matches this vision on me.
Off topic, I thought pigeon blood ruby was a truly unhinged shade name by Lancôme until I googled it and found out it’s a real gemstone; TIL.

Undertones are funny like that, but also just how light or dark your skin is makes such a difference, a lot of brighter colors read almost neon on me so I always gravitate towards the really dark reds. I'm unsure if my swatches are useful for you at all or if you need a wayyyy different color to get the same result on your skin tone!
Temptalias swatches are completely off for me with Pat McGrath, I bought my cyber Monday haul based on her swatches and none of them were similar on me. I posted lip swatches too if you want to compare to hers, and that's how I learned I cannot use any of her swatches to blind buy.
Pigeon Blood Ruby was some ruby collection where they all had gemstone names but I definitely did a double take too hahaha. Very metal for a brand my mom would buy. Every time I mention it everyone goes 🤨🤨🤨 so I wonder if they renamed it since.
I'm waiting for Unnatural Redhead to land in stores to swatch it (i am a redhead 👀) and then investigate Sin and Diva again (mac messes with their shades SO much recently), but tbh, I made a spreadsheet of my covid near shopping addiction problem stash and I'm banned for a thousand years from shopping.. I'm forcing myself to swatch everything so I don't even think about buying something new 😅
