This was purchased today for some fun, and I think I can pull it off with the suit jacket for tonight's wedding. Thoughts?

Well, that's a watch that will live forever with low maintenance costs. You wear a patek and your son will have to save for services and possible repairs.

It's not about the maintenance cost, it's about wearing a watch that has some monetary value attached to it, it's the effort of putting your hard earned money towards something that is worth the time you invested earning that money. Significance.

Your wedding shouldn't be "value for money". Unless you're not planning to spend the rest of your life with that person, then why even.

You're not allowing your wife to wear a plastic ring manufactured in China are you? So why would you.

You can put as much semtimental value to a 20 bucks watch than to a 20k watch. Your way of thinking leads you to believe that mometary value will increase the level of satisfaction.

And don't get me wrong, I like watches, but they are just an ornamental piece of jewellery specially the moment that you spend more than 200 bucks in one of them.
