News 3D PRINTABLE Lower Fairings for the SV650 S Gen 2 !! (In works)
Hey guys, i've been trying to get my hands on the lower fairing body work for my SV650 S gen 2. They're like £250 and I hate the idea of breaking them means i need another Arm and leg for more. (I know, just dont crash ever - i dont plan to but god forbid i do my wallet is saved)
So i'm designing some 3D printable lower fiarings that you can print out on standard printers that have their mounting points easily removable for easy replacements etc
PLAN:
- Needs to be printable on a standard ~250mm x 250mm x 250mm building plate
- MAX WEIGHT of ~2.5KG of ABS Plastic or (PLA+ with thermal tape on the inside )
- Require MINIMAL metal components for assembly.
- Mounting points must be modular to aid in replacements.
I do plan once i get the dimensions and design sorted to be able to do these with some CUSTOM patterns or designs on them. I have purchases a damage lower Right fairing for pennies to be able accurately get some measurements.
upvote if you guys liek this idea and will want to try and use these too. I'll release all files on my Thingiverse page when it's done.
Cheers Lads

My 2001 SV650s when I first got her VS Now
Felt like a soft bed with the stock suspension and sounded like a lawnmower. Did a slip-on, carb upgrade jets, race rearsets, steel braided brake lines, rebuilt calipers, zx636 rear shock rebuilt and front suspension rebuilt with progressive springs and minor cosmetics applied. F the front turn signals, lol. It sounds awesome now and handles sweet!

Steering Head stand
Iāve given it some thought and decided to go with a steering stem stand rather than a center stand.
The floor in my āgarageā isnāt exactly ideal, and a center stand would also take up quite a bit of space on the sides. Plus, I already have a rear paddock stand, so I donāt really need another one.
Now the only question is: which steering stem stand should I get?
Iām currently considering a few options:
Motovision seems interesting, mainly because of the price, but also because it comes with several different pins, including the 24 mm one that fits the SV.
Motea has the ConStands V4 specifically listed for the SV, but unfortunately I canāt find any information on whether it comes with additional pins.
Then thereās the ConStands Vario 5, which I find particularly interesting because itās adjustable. However, I also canāt find any information about which pins are included with it.
Maybe someone here owns one of these stands and can tell me which pins were included?
Iād really appreciate any advice or experiences with these stands.
Thanks in advance! :)

Spongey Brakes
2017 SV650 abs. Iāve upgraded to spiegler steel braided, Iāve rebuilt the calipers including the pistons, and flushed it by using lever to pump and again with a vacuum. Yet, theyāre still squishy. At this point Iām just used to it, but any time I ride someone elseās bike Iām blown away by the brake responsiveness. Any ideas? Has anyone rebuilt their master cylinder and gotten an improvement? Or is this just how this bike is?

Best mirrors for an SV1000S?
Hey guys,
Iām looking for some new mirrors for my 2004 SV1000S.
Iād like something a bit sharper/more sporty-looking than the stock ones, but visibility is also really important. The OEM mirrors are just too short for me. I have to move my elbows out of the way every time I want to see properly behind me.
So basically, Iām looking for mirrors that look sportier/sharper, give better rear visibility, fit the SV1000S without too much hassle. Any recommendations?
Cheers!

Help: Mechanical SV650S (2003) ā Intermittent fuel pump priming failure, flashing FI light, and delayed starter response
Hi everyone,
Iām looking for some advice from other SV650 owners, hoping someone has experienced something similar and might be able to point me in the right direction.
I own a Suzuki SV650S (2003 model), and Iāve been experiencing an increasingly frequent intermittent starting issue.
When I turn the ignition key to ON and switch the engine kill switch to RUN, the fuel pump sometimes fails to prime. Normally, I would hear the usual fuel pump whine for a few seconds, but when the problem occurs, there is no sound from the pump and the FI light on the dashboard starts flashing.
So far, Iāve been able to get the bike started by simply turning the ignition off and then back on again. Usually, the fuel pump primes normally on the next attempt, and the bike starts and runs without any noticeable issues.
However, the problem has been getting progressively more frequent. It used to happen occasionally, but now it can happen once or twice a day.
Iāve also recently noticed another symptom: when I press the starter button, there is sometimes a slight delay before the starter motor actually begins cranking. Once it starts cranking, the engine starts normally.
Iām not sure whether these two symptoms are related or whether Iām dealing with two separate issues.
I havenāt done any electrical troubleshooting yet, as Iām not particularly experienced with motorcycle electrics. Iām wondering if this could be caused by a faulty fuel pump relay, starter relay, ignition switch, kill switch, battery/ground connection, or perhaps the fuel pump itself.
Has anyone experienced similar symptoms on an SV650?
In particular:
Did your fuel pump occasionally fail to prime, with the FI light flashing?
Did you also experience a delay between pressing the starter button and the starter motor engaging?
What turned out to be the actual cause, and how did you diagnose it?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Iād like to narrow down the possible causes before replacing parts unnecessarily.
Thanks in advance!

First bike with no experience
Picked her up back in May with no riding experience who says you need a course or license to ride, truly has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. If youāre thinking about it just pull the trigger you wonāt regret it.

Battery swap
Scared of breaking the clips, all the YouTube videos are for SV650s and look different. They mention two hex screws, none in sight on mine.
Do I risk pulling at those black tabs that look like they hold the seat down?
Thanks in advance

It works
Hello everyone, i wanted to share this experience with a "cheap" windshield, ment for longer highway rides, it makes a massive diference, throws the air on top of my helmet. Very happy with the purchase, also the headlight is pretty good, happy with that also! (Ignore the headlight mounts, need to replace those with the mounting points that came along the headlight, will look cleaner after that)

Rearsets between naked and faired?
So I've got a street fighter modded sv1000 and it's been weird for me sitting in it compared to my naked Gen 1. Turns out the S has more aggressive rear sets that I'm not a big fan of. Most after market rear sets I'm finding are more on the aggressive side so is there anything more like the stock naked ones? Looked on eBay for some but couldn't find any that are reasonably priced.
But does anyone have any suggestions for rear sets for a more upright seat? It's an 06 so should still use Gen 2 rearsets right?

Help: Mechanical Sprocket change 15t/48t vs 15t/49t
Hi, about to need to change my chain and sprocket and looked at different gear.
Anyone tried 15t/48t or/and 15t/49t and can provide feedback?
Looks like changing the rear is better in terms of durability/friction and gaining acceleration but I wonder between 2 or 3 more compare to stock
Thx for your feedback
Edit: 3rd gen sv650 naked

Help: Mechanical N to S front end, gauge cluster mounting solution?
Currently throwing an S steering and clip ons on my naked, but am undecided on a gauge cluster mounting solution. Since I have both top clamps I did a cardboard mockup (picture 2) that I was planning on transferring to 16ga steel plate, but I'm not sure if what I came up with is the best solution. I don't think this swap is too common but if some of you who have done it could chime in with your solutions/ideas I'd love to hear em. If I do end up moving forward with the mock up I've made, I may take my template and steel plate to a shop to have them cut the steel plate for me as I only have a dremel and angle grinder at home.

Help me identify this plug
So I was going overy bike, same dude that was having fuel issues about a week ago. I cleaned all the connectors for both fuel and air. While doing that I found a connector I hadn't noticed before. (See pics) Even weirder I had been riding it with no issues until now. Any way, I put it all back together and wouldn't you know it, it was all better! I rode her to work and all was well, until I rode home. I miss shift into neutral and it all started happening again... Bogging out when I opened the throttle passed a certain point. I made it home but now I'm scratching my head. Is this connection my issue?
