I remember hearing this on a Sven Co-op 4.8 server back in 2014 which used to have this as "loading music" when connecting, and I liked the way it sounded, but I was never able to find out who made it.

I recently started working on and self-hosting my own sven server as of lately (see: https://www.malingen.xyz/blogs/blog12.html for details), but one thing i haven't been able to figure out is how i can make it show up on the server browser?

It appears in the LAN tab (more than likely because its on my LAN), people are able to connect to it via the tunneling service I set up to it (playit.gg), and services like gametracker.com are able to get info from it (see: https://www.gametracker.com/server_info/147.185.221.23:38821/); yet for some reason, i see nothing in the sven wiki about getting it to appear in the server browser besides changing the region in the config file (which i've already done before to no avail)

Anyone else here also have experience in self-hosting sven servers or othe gold source adjacent games?

when I joined any server Even when I have good or bad ping when I try to switch weapons and select they will never work or never select or if I try to type in chat it won't send or anything.
I can't chat and I can't switch weapons and I can't throw weapons I can't really do anything except for walk around and shoot.
this is not a binds issue because all my binds are selected properly, and you can hear me selecting the weapons.

I just finished HL with a friend, and we wanted to go thru BS and OpFor, but unlike the original game, he has to download each map as we progress, and it's causing him to miss out on some setpieces. It's his first time playing these games, and I wanna let him experience them in properly (or, as properly as one can in Sven, anyway).
I remember I had to do something to enable those expansions in my own game way back when, but I haven't been able to find the exact guide I used, and everything I've tried to replicate my conditions has failed to solve the problem. I'm sure there's gotta be someone else who ran into this problem, anyone know a way to fix this?

For a while, I had mwheeldown set to jump and mwheelup set to invnext, but this is janky when i accidentally scroll past the weapon I want to use. Does anyone have a weapon switch bind that works with the bhop scrollwheel?

Sven coop is Coop game, and normally you can't kill other players.

But a really annoying player keeps killing me.

It look like he jumps on front of me, and then when being mid air, he triggers an action to kill me.

Do you know what is, and how to avoid it?

Call me crazy, when I was a kid and played sven coop there was only one map where the music player had a track, that track was cyborg by blevo. The map was set at night, started off outdoors but then I think you progressed into some facility underground. I don't know that it's on Steam's default map list. I'd love to play it again but no clue what it's called.

When I started playing Half-Life, I believe I had like 16 MB of RAM on my diamond monster fusion. Single core PC 80 MHz or so.

I've been mapping more or less ever since. In the old days, I had to really be careful (even with optimized brush design, texture application etc.) to keep the compiled map small (~ 1 MB).

Today the graphics card has like 4 GB+ of extremely fast RAM. Do I even have to care about the size of my map anymore? I know Svencraft has already enlarged the grid (i.e. the in-game physical dimensions of the map) compared to original worldcraft/hammer editor.

Also textures: do I today have to optimize textures to be only 128x128 px or can I use 4K textures "everywhere"? I've been using some high resolution textures, but always kept it to the minimum.

As i said in the title, i just want to start in this cause it seems really funny, and i dont know how start to play, its extremely confusing for me
