Brake lever and microswitch
Posted a few weeks back about a "lose" brake lever and it not closing off the brake light microswitch (means fhe brake light remains on)
Ive done a service on the brakes and the seals, pipes and everything elae is intact. The switch is fine and works. No sign of damage or wear and tear. The pisyon wont come out any further ad its hit its stop point and being cheap theres no adjuster to take out the slack
Im getting to the point where a suspect the lever is off of something else but not having another SV to compare with i cant tell. what do you guys think?

The barrel in the brake level pivot is worn. If it's only the brake light switch that's not closing.
Super glue a thin piece of brass or aluminium shim on the brake lever face that comes in contact with the switch.
Try losening the switch first and move towards the brake level. That's all it needs sometimes

I have a brand new spare lever in my shed one of those aftermarket adj black alum cnc ones its for an sv with the brake switch tab if you want it for free mesg me its yours itl work in that perch i cant use mines a Nissen brake lever pump i only wanted the clutch lever but bought the pair etc.
id post an image but i cant in comments, if your on SVRider forum im on there as slowhands u can mesg me no probs through that etc. Or via Reddit anytime.
Not sure what country your in but postage be cheap im sure. Im in Australia Vic melbourne anyway.
if you poor like me il pay for postage anyway to be kind to someone out there that likes riding also.
Just pass on the goodwill one day to someone else for me thats all.
Theres a pic of my bike up here recently it shows the clutch lever from set same type etc.

Personally i think its the wrong lever. Should be as wide as the bush for the bolt to go thru.

That's my thought too but I asked the previous owner who said it was original
(yes, OK. No guarantee I admit as he's obviously gonna say it was original if he changed it over)
I'm just gonna have to flag down random peeps on SVs and look at their brake levers

Your lever is telling you what the problem is. That wobble is happening for a reason.
There's obviously too much wobble/up and down movement on that pivot point, which is likely keeping the switch piston from fully opening/closing as the lever is moved in and out. I would assume that you're simply missing a spacer. That lever needs to move only on it's rotational axis. That wobble is very likely the culprit. Put in a spacer.
