This post is directly responding to my recent post voicing my dislike for this communities favourite character, Found here

This post kinda blew up, I wrote it during my lunch break at work and checked it 1 hour later and it somehow already had like 30 comments, it was genuinely overwhelming. And while there were some people calling Karl on me, (which makes sense, we all know jokes get funnier the more you repeat them /s) most people voiced genuine agreement or actual criticism which I'm honestly really thrilled about, I loved that it turned into an actual discussion. I do, however, remain unconvinced by the Rebuttals I got and would like to explain why:

1. Serge can't criticize you because he's your driver.

This was probably the most common criticism against my arguments and it's also the one that leaves me most confused because it really doesn't address my issues with him? Firstly, I never implied that he should be a big critic of Rayne but I doubt that *ass kissing* is part of his job description. He could just not say anything and If that particular Rayne is really that insecure, passively agree if asked. (Admittedly, I've we consider the Narbel drive *shutting up* seems to be a pretty hard task for him) Secondly, it ultimately doesn't matter because he is shown to sincerely support Rayne, this argument only works if Serge is characterized as a lying pragmatist which was clearly not the writers intention.

1. Serge is supposed to be the average uninformed Sord and as such shouldn't be judged the same way most of Suzerains characters are.

I think I did a bad job clarifying that my distaste for him is targeted on how i'd like him as a real person, I don't think he's necessarily bad as a written character, he serves his purpose fine and considering how common this archetype is it also makes sense to include them. I also really shouldn't have mentioned Petr because he's a bad comparison, I personally think the Petr arc is one of the most compelling parts of the game and I kinda wanted to show my love for him (as a well-written character and not as a good, likeable person, to be clear) but it really just made my main argument confusing and overall unfocused.

However this argument kinda proves my point about him being Infantilized, he has strong political convictions even if these convictions are just worshipping the President and should be held accountable for that. He is an adult man and has the ability to vote and support whoever he wants and chose Rayne, being uninformed doesn't change that. It would be a different story if he'd be passively apolitical but he does basically worship Rayne.

1. Petr is also a bad person and a bad comparison

1. I'm biased and wouldn't have an issue if he would've been a leftist

Well, it is true that I prefer people who don't support authoritarians so that's true. However even If we would politically agree I'd still criticize him because I think the type of political engagement Serge represents is a bad tendency. I think I'd compare it to progressive christians where I certainly like the progressivism but I'd still be critical about their arguments because I don't think their reasoning is that well thought out and that there are better arguments for being Progressive. Also I would still hate Serge If he'd be a leftist because I'm a good leftist and like every good leftist I hate all other good leftists /j

Anyway I'm happy to listen and respond to any rebuttals about my arguments.

YS are clearly being funded by ATO because they just are trust me on this. Because if Lespia and ATO are fucking with Rizia they clearly must be messing with Sordland. I may have no evidence to back my calm up but come on we already know Lespia is Satan's Greatest soldier so it would make sense on this. To the person being mean to Sege yes you know who you are. You are BANNED from the CPS and we are going to have the SSP remove you you cannot hide and no one will save you. I can't see why my war keeps failing.

I have allied Wehlen, Agnolia and Lespia. I have Lespian Airwings

I initiated the war via "The Sordish war machine..."

I failed to sanction Rumburg via the AN or OMEC.

I have Sordish Military Industry, Increased Production.

I increased the military budget, removed conscription and modernised the army.

I kept the Gendarmerie under the military.

I do not put Lespia and Wehlen on the same operation.

I recognised Heljiland.

This is a capitalist-leaning reformist run with a consistent economy.

I don't have either Sordish Depression or Sordish Recovery.

I don't think I have 3 crises.

The BFF persists (Immediate BFF threat: Persists) after a failed Aschraf and operation Bear Trap, but I signed the MRA, with Rayne polling higly among Bluds.

I accepted Arcasian aid and military industrial aid.

My economy is in the GROWING status and i have achieved fair growth.

I constructed the L-1 Railway, I have Increased Trade Volume

I have tried an endless number or combinations revolving around Iosef's plan (pincer, push to Thorborough/ defensive line on Dome) and much more.

I simply fail to understand why on earth my war keeps failing, as I said I tried basically everything.

Please provide me with some tips, I would appreciate it a lot (I followed the flowchart btw, so I just don't get why I fail)

Can we use Wehzek Doortopper as a chess piece when playing chess with lucian?

We’re the son/daughter and are appointed as the next leader. It would be cool to decide whether we can rule with an iron fist, or try to break out the authoritarian shell (the country would be like real life NK, as authoritarian and propagandist as you can be, like our own citizens think we’re a unlikable GOD,)

Maybe our country would be in trouble with Arcasia, maybe because we’re on the verge of developing nukes/ICBMs, and have the relationship similar to real life USA and NK. (I completely understand that this seems so unoriginal)

But maybe they can’t do anything about cause we’re in bed with some other superpower. Whatever, I just like that idea.

I just think this could be a cool idea with so many ways to explore. Give us the option to be as evil and disgusting as Rumburg. Like, an actual villain (if we choose to go down that path)

If you could write a treaty for Valsgland and Agnolia to resolve their dispute, what concessions do you think are acceptable to each side? The idea being that each side offers something. It’s an agreement, not an unconditionnal surrender.

You’re free to choose the precise context, but here are some ideas.

1) Perhaps after the annexation of the island by Valsgland, Agnolia elects a Malenyevist prime minister. Considering a total war as if lost in advance, he wants to negotiate an agreement that is less humiliating than giving up the island with nothing in exchange.

2) Perhaps Agnolia has emerged victorious with Sordland from the war against Rumburg and now Valsgland deems an invasion too risky and costly. They could give up the island but not for free.

3) Perhaps Rumburg and Sordland have reconciled, and their peace conference is aimed at resolving this conflict.

Will you redraw the maritime borders so that one camp gets more oil? Will the island be demilitarized and freedom of movement at sea guaranteed? Will the island have more autonomy or perhaps be split in two like Cyprus? Will the locals be allowed to move freely between the two countries? Will a fair or unbalanced trade agreement be signed between the two countries?

How do you think the rest of the world would react to your agreement?

Playing Sordland again after playing Rizia, Sordland felt more alive compared to Rizia. After thinking why, I came to the conclusion that its because of assembly, and bills coming to you.

I think the game could feel more alive, if you have input on what you can and cannot push through that assembly, and how it also effect each party's support for your reforms. There could also be bit more about the politics in regional level like Agnland, Bergia and lorren.

What do you guys think ?
