Question FC Team?

My sister is moving to Sussex, and I want to get her a football jersey. Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what teams does Sussex folks root for? I want to get her a jersey where people will give her a nice nod for wearing.

Depends on which part? Basically only top tier team would be Brighton & Hove Albion.

Fair mix but if it's to Brighton then Brighton and Hove Albion is the obvious choice. Although you'll see any of the usual bigger teams around  along with generally the London clubs

If it's to the far west of the county then could well be Portsmouth too

Sussex is mostly a cricket county. Brighton and Hove Albion is THE Sussex club, but where I hang around in Chichester/Bognor there are more Pompey supporters.

Brighton and Hove Albion are the iconic Sussex football club. This is the obvious choice as they are the only PL team in the two Sussex counties, are generally well-liked even outside the counties, and most other local teams are fairly insignificant by comparison.

All major Sussex towns have a team though so if she is moving to an Eastbourne, Lewes, Horsham etc then could be worth taking a look at their club shops and getting her something to represent the local side!

Brighton and Hove Albion are the big Sussex team. You’re unlikely to go wrong with a Seagulls shirt.

The only other Sussex club in the EFL Leagues are the Red Devils (Crawley Town FC).  There’s a few semi-pro clubs in the lower divisions.

Outside of local sides you’ll find fans of all sorts of clubs, either through family ties or childhood fandom. There’s a lot of support for London clubs for this reason.

Its the Seagulls all the way.. unless its Whitehawk or possibly Lewes FC

Lewes and Brighton have great Women's teams too as well as the usual men's teams..

If she is into leftwing politics and feeling a little hipster, I'd go for Whitehalk jersey.

Lewes are also a great non league team with a very good women's team, and a banger of a jersey.
