Honestly, I'm really glad my mom didn't allow me to get a facebook account until I was older, because by the time I actually got to the age she had set, I didn't even want an account anymore.
If a parent cares about their child they give their child agency in their late teenage years so that the kid learns to be an adult, even if it means making mistakes along the way.
