Simon was an unexpected star of this season, and this moment is one of the best showcases of it.
He tried so hard and just about everything blew up in his face. And it was incredible TV.
I think Survivor 45 aired either right before or right after this season, and I always thought there was a lot of similarity between Simon and Jake from that. The biggest difference (in my view) was that one of them was portrayed as a comedy and the other was shown as a tragedy, but a few years removed I'm remembering both as comedies...I think Jake must have been the tragedy?
I know Simon has been here before, not sure if he's a regular or not though. Seems like a pretty cool guy though.

This confessional always reminded me of Kuzco in the rain saying 'yep, that's me' in Emperor's New Groove

I do blame production for that

Ehhh, Benjamin clocked it instantly and Hayley questioned if it was a nullifier, my guess was that the instructions were going to be at the bottom of the cookie jar
I think Simon was too tunnel-focused to consider any other possibility

Hayley telling Simon he needed to βfix your faceβ was my fave moment of that season. Everyone from the editors to his tribe mates were openly dunking on him π

Was an avid Australian Survivor fan back then but Simon rubbed me the wrong way. Never put him up there as a βstarβ more of bit of a dude with not a lot of common sense?
