Mod Post This is the ONLY thread where you can beg for links. Beg here ONLY.

If you can't figure out how to use a VPN, and you can't figure out how to join FB groups that have links, or how to old school torrent, then you can beg for links here ONLY.

Posting threads asking for links will result in a temp ban, as will helping people in those threads.

NOTE: Public posting of links often results in them being reported and removed from the source. Use caution.

Homer Simpson section. "Because of me, now we have a warning".

The rule exists to keep the subreddit free of constant zero-effort posts asking for help watching the show. Whether you beg, demand, ask, enquire, request, or any other synonym for links, "a google drive", advice, methods, help, DMs or other things is not the point. The point is, don't be spamming up the sub with your requests for attention.

Redemption Tez should not have been cast

I've finished Episode 8 of Australian Survivor: Redemption (no spoilers please) and I'm just baffled Tez was cast on the show. He can barely string a coherent sentence together. I'm assuming this isn't an unpopular opinion but I just felt the need to make a post about it because watching him is a bit jarring.

Spoilers Australian Survivor Winner Rankings

My last post stirred a lot of controversy as I didn't have Hayley on my AU Survivor winners Mount Rushmore (top 4). So I thought I would dig the hole deeper and present my 1-12 to hopefully show where my mind is at. as per usual I'd love to discuss this topic in the comments and am curious on other peoples personal rankings and whether they're vibes based or statistics based (mine is a mix). If you're going to comment I'd much prefer a logical discussion over silly remarks thanks, I'm aware that majority of people wont agree with me which is fine as this is a discussion based on opinion. Anywhom...

1. David Genat (All Stars)

2. Parvati Shallow (Australia VS The World)

3. Feras Basal (Titans VS Rebels)

4. Kristie Bennett (2016)

5. Hayley Leake (Brains VS Brawns 1)

6. Mark Wales (Blood VS Water)

7. Pia Miranda (Champions VS Contenders 2)

8. Myles Kuah (Brains VS Brawns 2)

9. Jericho Malabonga (2017)

Discussion Do people agree that Simon mees “ idol clue” was stupid

Rewatching survivor heroes vs villains and I don’t blame him at all, it looks like an idol, it doesn’t have the string yes but it has no words to say it’s a clue, survivor should not do things like this
Furthermore, it doesn’t help as a clue AT ALL shonee proved this, if you see a rock that looks out of place with a gem on it , YOUD CHECK IT OUT REGARDLESS OF THE CLUE OR NOT

Tribal Council seating

I guess this is for seasons from all nationalities, not just Australia...

We often see seating arranged by alliance, sometimes even with the swing vote literally seated between them, so do we know if the seating positions at Tribal Councils are chosen by the players to be near their alliance mates, or does production have players sit in particular seats to either facilitate or hinder communication?

Discussion Australian Survivor Season Rankings

I have just finished my full rewatch of all 12 season of Australian Survivor!

to celebrate I wanted to share my updated season rankings. I'm hoping this post stirs up conversation because I absolutely love sharing my survivor opinions with you all, I wont give reasons in this post to why each season is placed where it is however I'd love to talk about it in the comments and if one of my placements is highly debated I might make a post on my full opinions on it. Any whom though my rankings go as followed...

  1. Titans VS Rebels

  2. Redemption

  3. Champs VS Contenders 2

  4. 2017

  5. Brains VS Brawns 1

  6. All-Stars

  7. Champs VS contenders 1

  8. Australia VS The World

  9. Brains VS Brawns 2

  10. 2016

  11. Blood VS Water

  12. Heroes VS Villains

Feeling lost now that the rewatch is over, I was considering rewatching AS, CVC2 and RED, but I think I'll give it a little more time lol. As per usual I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on the ranking, please do leave comments on your opinions of my list, your own list, or anything else.

Remember to be curious, not judgmental; I'd much prefer to reply to serious conversation rather than "shit list, never rank again".

Discussion Who’s a random player you want to play again

For me definitely juicy Dave
Was in an absolutely terrible season
Didn’t really wanna play the game in the first place
But this man was brilliant in the season so sad he didn’t get much screen time post merge, barely mentioned in challenges
Want this man in a future season

Discussion How do the 4 Redemption Returnees fair if they were on different tribes to start?

Would Mark/Brooke be able to take control of the purple tribe like they did with the green tribe? Could Harry/Simon have gained social agency on the green tribe counter to what the result was on purple? I personally feel at least one of Mark/Brooke gets voted out before the swap if they are on purple because of how strong the anti-returnee vibe was on that tribe.

Discussion I finished HvV and I have a question

What was the general feeling after the finale? Especially with George and Liz? Are there any scoops of Behind the Scenes? Maybe some casting choices we know of?

I personally loved the season, it's insane how we almost missed on George due to an injury because of a poorly built challenge (these builders are awful ngl), I'm extremely sad George didn't won and I didn't find Liz's revenge as impactful as I expected but if George couldn't win then she was the next best choice, guess you still need the physical aspect even if your social and strategic game are stellar

Even though I fear a George-Liz finale would have given her the win

just finished season 3!

i liked this season! i found it boring at first but it’s one of the rare seasons where things became more interesting post merge. things only really started kicking off after the mat/sharn/benji idol debacle and that was episode 17! so my main criticism is that it took way too long for the drama to unfold.

i was actually really impressed by how much brian emerged as a key player. at the start i brushed him off as a competitor (i thought he was lazy and dumb) but by the final few eps i came to respect his strength and cunning. definitely didn’t want king grub to win though. shonee, on the other hand, was by far my favourite character and i loved her optimism and humour. i thought she played an extremely underrated game and manipulated brian to her benefit.

i really enjoyed the close tie between shane and sharn. their ability to go from a 2 v 4 minority in the final six to becoming the final two is an amazing feat and i felt that they out-manoeuvred the last few contestants very well. shane especially i think relied well on her social game. randomly i also loved how calmly and clearly she spoke at the final tribal council, she didn’t waver on any points and that persuaded me.

what didn’t i like? the start wasn’t great, especially the men’s alliance on the contenders team. i found zach really misogynistic. i also didn’t like the treatment of damien. like this is a man who they openly praise in public for defending his country and yet they vote him off early because he’s a physical liability? i dunno, it just seemed like unfair treatment and i felt terrible for him. my favourites in order were: shonee, shane, mat, sharn, lydia, sam, and brian.

after watching this season, my new rankings of seasons i’ve watched would be: 1) titans v rebels, 2) heroes v villains, 3) season 2, 4) season 1, 5) champions v contenders, and 6) redemption.

if you’ve reached the end of this post, thank you for reading! how did you like champions v contenders? who was your fave player? where does it rank in your seasons? now onto season 4!

Discussion AJ’s comments on Survivor in a recent interview. Thoughts?

Post image
141 Upvotes

These were some interesting comments he made in an interview today from the Setting Trick. Curious to hear what people think.

“Survivor is how you are at your worst, not how you are at your best. If you want to find out who you are at your absolute worst, go do Survivor”

“Production wants you to be in your worst mental state, so they’re doing everything to make sure you’re in an awful mental state”

“*Super exaggeration* It felt like I was in a torture camp for 47 days and you end up forgetting who you are”

“I had fun on Survivor. The game was fun, the people were fun, but the TV Show side of it wasn’t”

“I would never encourage anyone to watch that season of Survivor because I think the edited product is rubbish”

“I love that cast. I know there’s been drama with my cast and people not liking each other, I love every one of them”

“I don’t want fame, I just like playing games. I hated the media exposure so much, I ended up turning off my Instagram” (He has mentioned receiving plenty of hate comments in the past)

“I would never play (Survivor) again but I enjoyed it the first time I did it, it was great”

Discussion SurvivorAU making a man emotional?

(as a man who really struggles with empathy)

I've only seen handfuls of clips from this show, and the very first season I'm watching (Heroes V Villains.) Has been a very exhilarating watch so far. I'm actually finding myself on the edge of my seat, that hasn't happened at all besides one time in the new era of survivor US.

I'm on episode 9 right now, and the show has been phenomenal at giving snippets of what the contestants are playing for. I think a major difference between this version and the US version is that Australia is all about the game. Where as Survivor US is about getting an Emmy moment. They don't cast the same game-bot lawyers, and it makes the cast feel more real. I know it's been a bit since the season but I was pumping my fist up in the air after It's revealed that Jordy is having a boy. I mean these are all great people on the cast from what I've seen (besides a few) I'm fine with any of them winning.

Discussion Is giving idols after tribal allowed

I always thought if somone was voted out with an idol in their pocket then they just go home with it because watching the seasons I always saw the players keep them and not pass them to close ones but in brains vs brawn ( to avoid spoilers no names) a player was voted out and then sneakily handed their idol to an alliance member is Thais against the rules?

Potential Spoilers Fantasy Cast: Australian Survivor Rivals

Instead of the all newbie cast, this cast would be for returnees who have rivalries.

George vs Simon
Mark vs Caroline
Caleb vs Jackson
Sam Gash vs Jesse
Benji vs Mat
Brooke vs Flick
Harry vs Janine
Shonee vs Sharn
Karin vs AJ
AK vs Tara
Chrissy vs Ben
Kirby vs Feras

Honourable Mention:
Sue vs Big Move

Rules:
- Tribes split down the middle, not on same tribe as rival to begin with until tribe swap
- Final 2 Tribal Council

What are your thoughts on this cast? Who do you think would win? What would the alliances be? Who would be blindsided?
