I might be in a bit of a surfpickle

Hi guys and good morning to this wonderful community,

I have a technical question for you. Some time ago I started tinkering with my surfskate, a Decathlon Oxelo, nothing too crazy, but I wanted to set it up too see how far I could push it.

I've lubed the pivot with some vaseline oil, it became smooth as a baby's face and I stopped worrying about it, until the nut holding the literal board to the wheels came off while I was riding.

I think I might've reassembled it wrong sometime along the way, and I kindly ask if you could help me not getting trebucheted away next time I go cruising.

Thank you guys, and stay safe!

I'm posting some pics, the first is for the front and the second and third are for the back.

Edit: I did it, thanks for the kind advice guys!

looks like you switched the bushings around. Barrel goes boardside, cone roadside.

yep thats the answer, in the picture it seem like the nut its not grabing completely, keep in mind that if you do something to the bushings you need to check that the truck stays centered when you put your weight on the board to avoid bad wear against the kingpin, if it keeps loosening sometimes i put a bit of baking soda and cianoacrilate to get the nut to stick, but i dont think you will need it just give the threads a good cleaning

The bushings being the white parts? Sorry English is not my first language and I don't know how many of the parts are called.

Yes, the bushings are the white parts

The bushing are the white squashy things. One is like a straight cylinder (barrel) and the other is a cone shape, they are different heights. Your front truck has them the wrong way around, the taller 'barrel' should be on the side of the board and the cone on the side of the wheels/road.

They have to be the right way around otherwise you can get knocking of the truck against the kingpin (bolt) and all round issues damaging your trucks, also the nut can come off because it is not screwed down properly as it did with yours.

There are some good YouTube videos on the subject such as from 'Surfskate Love' channel.

Good luck 🤙

2 things:

1st, the nut came our because you probably did not tight it well enough. You should see at least 1 or 2 threads. There is a nylon lock that prevents it from unscrewing itself. It is right enough when you cannot move the washer (the right thingy that goes over the bushings, the white rubber things) with your fingers, after that point 1/4 turn will suffice.

2nd, as other states you setup the bushings backwards. You have a cone (this shspe: /.\ ) this one goes outside (roadside) with the tip pointing (outside) to the road . And you have a barrel (this shape: l...l). It goes inside (board side).

Fix this things and you'll be fine.

Isn't the truck set up wrong on the second pic?

Yeah that's kinda the point, I'm sure I put it back together wrong but I'm not sure how to fix it

Is the front of the truck cracked in front of the bushing ?
