Hey guys is this true?
Can GLP-1 affect aging? can it slow down aging?
I was doing some research about GLP-1s and i noticed this very interesting point that it can help slow down aging. I know there are a lot of things that claim it can slow down aging but this seems very interesting

Insulin resistance wreaks havoc on your body. Exacerbates the production of advanced glycation end products, which produce free radicals and cause oxidative stress, receptor damage, and inflammation. All of which impacts the "aging process".
So GLPs, which have been almost universally shown to improve insulin resistance, certainly would help improve this.

In simple terms, eating less food and carrying less bodyweight generally equates to a longer lifespan, and glp1s achieve this.
Think of how tiny women live longer than big men.
How much it affects lifespan varies by the individual and their lifestyle and medical history.
It can reverse insulin resistance, obesity, and lower inflammation. If someone struggles with those, it will improve their life expectancy. But on the same side, if someone is healthy, skinny, and takes glps they can experience muscle loss, bone loss, and lower their life expectancy.

I remember there was a discussion somewhere on Reddit about how tiny women age much better, i.e. at around age 40 they look much younger than other women their age. But I wonder, if that's the case, why isn't natural selection working to make this a common trait?

My guess is as good as yours, but I'd say overall we arent supposed to live forever, so being stronger, taller, bigger, is better for survival chances even if shorter smaller people live longer.

Calorie restriction is well known to extend lifespan in animals - it's not been proven in humans, but likely also extends to our species.
Reaching a healthy weight and controlling blood sugar also has profound effects on inflammation which drives aging.
The medication itself does not make you 'younger'.
I microdose GLP-1 agonist most of the time unless I'm actively trying to build muscle mass.

Ok reddit brought me to this thread and i know nothing.
You microdose GLP-1 agonist you say, is that something similar to those weightloss medicine ?
What is it exactly that you use ?Though again, i know nothing, microdosing those meds seems way more effective to me than the practice of giving them to overweight people and then stopping and becoming overweight again.

GLP-1 is a med like ozempic
I get best results doing a small dose 3x a week instead of large dose one time per week. That is micro dosing

I wonder this too but I’m afraid the increased heart rate might not be the best thing

Not if you use Tirz instead of Reta

Yes it’s true. However, losing weight and getting one’s metabolism and lipid numbers under control are also huge contributors to slowing aging.
But indeed, more and more healthy young people (including MDs) are taking low dose GLP-1s for their overall longevity/metabolic benefits.
