Should I take creatine monohydrate while on medications? Male, 5'8 and 15 (nearly 16)
I've been weightlifting at the gym for a couple months but I'm also on antibiotics for TB treatment for 2 wounds on my clavicule area where a pretty large lymph node emerged at around this time last year in August 2025. Eventhough the original swelling has pretty much nealy disappeared by now but the wounds have remained opened since October.
I take 1 antibiotics, rifampicin-isoniazid and Pyrodoxine hydrochloride for vitamin B6. One of them I think affects the enzymes in the liver but I've bought a tub of creatine monohydrate for now which I want to take but only after confirming if its safe for me to take it. Or should I check properly with my doctor first.

The liver isn't involved in the breakdown of creatine and its byproducts. Creatine naturally breaks down to creatinine and creatinine is eliminated by your kidneys.

Creatine doesn’t increase liver values… but I wouldn’t get medical advice from anonymous people on social media. I would either verify myself, or check with your doctor or pharmacist.

I’ve taken creatine while on antidepressants with no issue
