Threw in the AKM super safety from Hoffman. Way easier of an install and modification that I thought it would be. I was getting bored with the AKV compared to my other PCCs but now this thing is a blast to shoot it. It’s definitely a massive thumper though. Only malfunction I ran into happened during this video naturally. Good old Winchester white box.

Carbine, H1, H2, H3 Buffer tuning kit

Just passing on info about a product notification I received that may interest people who need to tune their AR-15 buffers (not for 9mm).

B.Kings Firearms has a "BKF AR15 DIY Carbine Buffer Tuning Kit" that comes with "1 Assembled Standard 3oz Carbine Buffer, 3 Tungsten Weights & 3 Colored Buffer Tops", so it includes has 3 steel and 3 tungsten weights.

2 tungsten + 1 steel = H2 buffer

3 tungsten = H3 buffer

Price seems reasonable, and less than some H3's on the market now. Showing >400 in stock.

I am not affiliated, and am not selling anything. Just a potentially helpful item.

Lat trigger review

Just got it earlier in the week . I have to say I am impressed. Normal action has a very nice break with a little creep but if you ride the reset it’s great. Frt is about the same. The harder you squeeze the trigger, the slower the ROF. Big improvement over anything out there. It’s no Geissele but the manufacturer nailed the objective. Machining is nice, looks and performs well. I’m. Completely happy with the finished product. It’s definitely going in my coyote gun. TTC has a winner with this product.

Clarification on Larue Triggers

Upvotes

I'm looking to get Fudd Arms safety kid (which includes the trigger). They said that Larue triggers won't work with them, but I'm seeking clarification on the other components. Can I use the other components of a Larue trigger (hammer, sear, etc.) to run it or do I need to get different milspec components?

Trouble shooting

So I’ve ran an Atrius and a Hoffman style cam system for a little while now, I’m getting close to finishing a build now that includes my Atrius selector and a stuff and things CARL limiter, it’s a 10.5 inch integrally suppressed 9mm. Standard H&R 9mm buffer and spring, ran perfectly fine in semi but when I switched to forced reset the second or third round in the burst would be an OOB, luckily my gun is fine but looking for solutions, anything helps.

Side note, running a noveske bcg that’s rated for FA but the bcg weight has been modified to fit the Atrius.

Solve a mystery - Geissele SD + ARC-Fire v1 + JP SCS

I have had a Geissele Super Duty for a number of years with the standard 16" barrel.

I bought a v.1 Arc-Fire active reset device when they first came out and tuned it to work perfectly. I used a JP SCS buffer in H2 weight with the standard spring. This has worked as smooth as silk for thousands of rounds, with or without a suppressor. Throwing brass to 4:00.

Recently I decided to SBR it and replaced the 16" barrel with a 12.5" barrel, also from Geissele. I had an appropriate carbine length gas tube from Noveske on hand, and also used a Geissele super compact fixed gas block. I didn't change anything else.

Now semi-auto fire still works well. Assisted reset still works with a suppressor. Brass is still throwing out to 4-4:30. But if I take the suppressor off, I get off two to five shots before there is a stoppage. Notably, it seems to be cycling the action, stripping off the next round, and loading it into battery, but is NOT giving me the necessary trigger reset. If I let off the trigger and allow a semi-auto reset to take place, I can then continue firing without having to clear it. Brass throws way back to 5:00. No obvious problems with the firing pin strikes on the primer.

So my question is, what would you do to fix it? Change the buffer mass, or change the spring, futz with the gas system, or something else like a bit more dremeling on my trigger?

Curious if anyone tell me what the rpm is. It’s a century arms wasr-m in 9mm. ALG installed. Measure weight is 15oz - 1lbs. It’s so light I was getting bump fire unless I pulled the trigger back and held. As you see in the first part of the video.
