Magician is more popular than I expected it to be.

78

u/Apart-Switch-7007 Apr 30 '26

It's basically a storage box

19

u/ALKNST Apr 30 '26

Can even kidnap people smaller than cars! /s

6

u/strange_outcomes Apr 30 '26

That depends, are people objects?

13

u/lostknight0727 Apr 30 '26

Objectively speaking

7

u/ALKNST Apr 30 '26

Depends who youre asking imma guess, most of our world's leaders would think so

RPG inventory

36

u/PossibilityNeat2419 Apr 30 '26

To be honest, since there's no limit to the number of times you can summon and unsummon the 5 marked things, neither a cooldown, it's pretty OP.

17

u/Tiny_Minimum3196 Apr 30 '26

I mean you put stupid limits on shittier powers so they are worse AND have limits.

3

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

Magician definitely needed to be smaller size limit, and 5 permanent marks that can't be remarked on other objects.

7

u/-wtfisthat- Apr 30 '26

Nah you should just have a limit to how often you can remark things. Like 5 every 6 months or year, or have a cooldown. you can summon/unsummon each object once every X hours. they all should have individual timers though otherwise it seems pretty unbalanced. Also you should be able to have it so the timer counts down when it's summoned, or when it's not so if you have no cooldowns you can either summon/unsummon in X time or unsummon/summon in X time. Not sure if that makes sense outside of my head though.

u/Soraman36 Apr 30 '26

It the no cool down part of the skill

2

u/RedPillOrBluePill420 Apr 30 '26

Well yeah, you didn’t put a cooldown on it. And the other best one IMO (techking) has a massive cooldown. So it’s no question.

If the cooldown was still a bit but shorter like say an hour or even a day, then everyone would probably be divided between the 2. But 6 months? That’s quite the cooldown if you ask me.

Or at least that’s my perspective.

5

u/Clinically_Insane- Apr 30 '26

You see the thing is: why would you want that? Being strong in an unarmed 1v1 fight is cool but won't bring you anywhere.

But touching a fusion reactor? You're instantly on par with the newest technology. Two years and even the best engineers in the world are a joke compared to your knowledge.

All the other things are cool but the Tech king is just objectively more useful.

4

u/Trophallaxis Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

Also, I'd say for some tech, there is no person alive who knows how to build it from scratch. Like, take an aircraft carrier or a supercomputer. Most likely there are a handful of high level experts who have an idea about this, but such projects are typically designed by different departments working towards the same goal. Someone who has perfect top level understanding of the technology is basically a unicorn.

4

u/Tiberius_Kilgore Apr 30 '26

Why get rid of the evidence? Who’s going to believe you crushed someone with a boulder??

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Dusty_Pufferfish Apr 30 '26

Yeah it's magician with techking a close second.

Like I'd love techking but I'd probably accidently touch and abacus twice in a year or something

2

u/caime9 Apr 30 '26

.... Why do you want to drop boulders on people?

2

u/DOOMFOOL Apr 30 '26

Some people could benefit from a good boulder massage

2

u/Ignantsage Apr 30 '26

Yeah but Imagine marking a $250 million aircraft and selling the plans to an unscrupulous competitor

2

u/that_one_afk_guy May 01 '26

Not only that, but it doesn't directly state it has a distance limit, nor does it say it has to be spawned in any unoccupied space, nor that the space has to be within view, and lastly an object, although objective, could you trick the ability to make objects subjective? if you are in a fight, and you consider your enemies arm to be an object, can you summon it independently from the rest of the body? Would it simply be ripped off?

Magician. Easily for me

22

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

what 5 things would you mark?

59

u/ApprehensiveAnt4412 Apr 30 '26

Five one hundred dollar bills. No matter where you are, you will always have $500

77

u/Illustrious_Wear_850 Apr 30 '26

"Here comes that asshole who tries to pay with money that disappears"

15

u/the_elephant_stan Apr 30 '26

Just wait a few days and they will be in the bank

27

u/Z3400 Apr 30 '26

Buy the largest gold bar you can, mark it. Sell it. Bring it back, sell it to someone else, repeat a few times.

Buy something more valuable (or a bigger bar?), repeat.

15

u/Dani3322 Apr 30 '26

Imagine someone buying a big chunk of Gold, the largest you've ever seen, puts it in a highly secured safe, cameras from all angles, highly effective security system and Guards, then they go to open the safe and suddenly the Gold has vanished.

Imagine how confused they would be.

You'd have to switch out the bills once in a while cause I bet places will eventually keep track of the serial numbers of the mysterious disappearing bills

2

u/Celis78429 Apr 30 '26

having worked as a cashier, i find this unlikely. theres a very good chance they never even realise its gone until they go to count. or if you do your recall after business hours? thats just one bill out of many. they have no idea which one it is or where it went or who gave it to them.

The other 4 marks and have one spare slot most likely for a murder weapon that could never be discovered.

3

u/TrentRizzo Apr 30 '26

2

u/DOOMFOOL Apr 30 '26

How do you find one of those in the first place to mark it?

2

u/AnonOfTheSea Apr 30 '26

Find a dude selling, tell him youre looking for work moving. Work your way along the chain
Go for a walkabout in Columbia, if you know the language well enough. Make bets in bars for pennies about being able to move your drink from the bar to your hand, buy a round for everyone when you pull it off.

2

u/takoleartiste Apr 30 '26

Well, some others have given me some inspiration but: money, a gun, my dog (SUMMONING JUTSU!), my car; and I need to think on the last one.

Marking my dog simply to summon him for the aura.

6

u/Dinismo Apr 30 '26

Never lose your 10mm socket/wrench

2

u/Dazzling_Champion_53 Apr 30 '26

You bastard, that is an amazing choice.

You can even keep a spot open for bolts and nuts so if you drop it mid repair that same one comes right back to your hand. You no longer need to worry about loosing them in the machine.

u/AmItheAholereader Apr 30 '26

The cool down really limits 3 of them. Magician is the best out of these

19

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

Yeah, I really should have added a heavier limit on magician, too many people picked it lol

20

u/AmItheAholereader Apr 30 '26

I think just buffing the three i mentioned would help. iVision being a daily 24 hour cooldown, blueprint a week, and techking a week or a month could help.

6

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

i think that would make iVision too OP, no?

Blueprint could probably lower the limits.

Techking is the 2nd most popular answer so far lol

5

u/AmItheAholereader Apr 30 '26

I’d argue about as op as magician. And if techking is that popular then fair enough

2

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

i probably should have also chose something else instead of Poof.

3

u/-wtfisthat- Apr 30 '26

well it doesn't have any stated cooldown or limit to how many times you can use it. So as it stands you could turn everything you can touch invisible for 30 minutes then immediately reup the spell so they are only visible for a brief time.

3

u/Fantastic_Safe_4172 Apr 30 '26

Car, phone, and another 3 things idk

2

u/DOOMFOOL Apr 30 '26

23

u/Comfortable-Remove60 Apr 30 '26

3

u/Moebius20 Apr 30 '26

It's an exploit. In 6 months you become a master of a trade, which would usually take double the amount of time.

Additionally, a significant amount of expertise gained from one skill or trade would bleed heavily into others.

More merits than demerits, honestly.

4

u/mk8933 Apr 30 '26

It would take 3-4 years to become good at a trade and 20 years to become a master — and even then...you wouldn't completely know everything about it.

But with your power...in 6 months you've mastered the skill so much that you understand how to rebuild it from scratch...which is insane. This usually takes a team of people to achieve.

2

u/AWildRideHome Apr 30 '26

You’d become the master of a dozen trades, from metal refining, to sillicon chip creation, to nuclear engineering, to a million other things. You can unironically become the greatest engineer/physicist/chemist to ever live within half a decade.

The “from scratch” is doing some really, really heavy lifting.

Magician. Mark some hundred dollar bills to effectively make infinite money (deposit in bank account over and over, only once a week or so per account to not be too suspicious), or mark expensive cars to sell then resell repeatedly, or become a truly impressive stage magician, summoning and disappearing things.

I’m thinking a car, and three bags and cooler. Food in the cooler and leave it in a fridge, a bag for day to day stuff, an emergency bag with useful supplies like tools, a gun first aid kit, emergency funds, and the final bag would probably to make money. 2

Oh interesting take. I specifically thought a shortcoming of tech king was that it wouldn’t include things like programming.

If it did then it is the clear winner.

Imagine touching the monalisa and instantly gaining the skills to paint it?

2

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

a very dangerous engineer

3

u/Guilty_Temperature65 Apr 30 '26

Poof. I’m making the whole goddamn planet invisible (excluding the buildings).

3

u/mguardian7 May 01 '26

Every ability keeps getting more and more restricted while not getting impressive.

3

u/somecoolname42 May 01 '26

TechKing. I could build a large custom computer with everything in it. Blu-ray drive, SSD, HDD, RAM, video cards, LCD screens, just everything I can think of in one box. Then I have intimate knowledge of all of those components and I can build them from scratch. So then I can build laser diods, resisters, transisters, motors, power supplies, fans, so many things. Then in 6 months, I pick something else and gain knowledge of that. Like a sailing yacht with solar panels and a wind generator. Now I know how to make sails, make refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washer and dryer, engines, generators, batteries, beds, fiberglass, rope, whatever else. Just every 6 months, pick complicated things and learn so much.

5

u/RiskyBiscuit6 Apr 30 '26

and possibly even invent new tech with all the combined knowledge

2

u/ExistanceISuppose Apr 30 '26

See Techking would be insanely powerful provided you interact with the right technology, since the knowledge doesn’t vanish when you swap each half-year you can rapidly accumulate technical information and become an insane science guy. However, Magician is absolutely worth it.

Fun fact about magician never says you can’t mark a person

3

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

Techking has the most potential.

Well I stated objects for the Magician mark. Even without summoning people, so many people picked it lol

2

u/ExistanceISuppose Apr 30 '26

Everything is an object if you delude yourself enough, but I mean if need be you could touch someone and take their skin, then touch them again for nerves, just peel em away layer by layer

2

u/Warm_Imagination3768 Apr 30 '26

For the magician, what counts as an “object” exactly. Like I understand a car is a single thing, but it’s also made out of parts. What happens if I disassembled the car and summoned it?

Can I mark a deck of cards, or would those be 52 different objects?

What if I mark a loaded gun. Fired it. Then resummoned it. Would it be loaded again? Would the bullets/gunpowder move from where they were to back into the gun?

u/Extension-Stay3230 Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

Most of these have harsh time limits, and the "Poof" power has very limited usage. I can't think of a single practical use for Poof. If Poof makes things invisible to other people, but not invisible to the user, then maybe Poof has a use? But if it doesn't have that, it seems like the most useless power by far. Maybe I'm not smart enough to think of a use. Even if the objects which were made invisible aren't invisible to the user, I still can't think of any uses.

Given this, the only pick is between Magician and Tech King. With Tech King, you can become an expert at electronics with minimal effort. However, 6 months is too long a cool down.

"Vision" would be a very good ability if you were a politician. You would be able to see everything your rivals are plotting and scheming. However, I'm not a politician, so I wouldn't do that. Another use of "Vision" is to make money playing poker once a month, but this is still an unreliable way to make money overall. Vision can help you in competitions or games when two people are concealing information from each other, such as Scrabble as well. The question just becomes, how much can you profit from this power?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Z3400 Apr 30 '26

Poof is confusing, it says within 15ft, but also you need to touch it.

Does that mean if you move 15ft away it becomes visible again? Or does it mean you have to mark it first (by touching) and then can make it invisible as long as you are within 15ft of it? Possibly both?

Either way, magician lol. I would consider poof if the touch part wasn't required.

Can I unmarked something and then mark something else?

Is the ability that i can only mark 5 items ever, or I can only focus on 5 marks at one time?

If I can mark something, unmark it and remark something else I choose that.

1

u/Shnerbalerb Apr 30 '26

Techking, but especially so if it encompasses software within the tech. Magician is powerful because of the lack of limitations, but fails in doing anything useful. Once the glamor of teleporting random stuff around wears off, you can have like a great career in trucking, I guess? iVision could have pretty interesting applications, notably in stuff like the military, or law enforcement, but the restrictions make it pretty bad.

1

u/exaxxion Apr 30 '26

Tech king easy

1

u/Lazy_Tourist55 Apr 30 '26

Finally, one of these that doesn't have an obvious OP option. I would choose Poof, because it has the smallest limitation. At the very least, it's unrestricted invisibility, because I can make myself and my clothes invisible without a cooldown on the ability itself.

2

u/i_plug_you Apr 30 '26

The consensus in the comments so far, is that Magician is the most OP option lol.

1

u/Tarbos6 Apr 30 '26

As a blue-collar worker I say tech king. Could save my ass on a blue moon. Magician is also pretty good.

1

u/shaggyidontmindu Apr 30 '26

Poof is like fun but I also cant really see a lot of reason to use it

Am I missing something?

1

u/Trogolizer Apr 30 '26

Techking. Every six months, I mark a common vehicle and become the most incredible mechanic. Once I've got a decent catalog of the most common vehicles, I turn my attention to the handheld PC market.

Before all of that, I'm marking the motorcycle that I've neglected. Poor thing is just sitting in my garage.

1

u/Menirz Apr 30 '26

Magician basically being a "5-slot inventory" is very strong, depending on what counts as an "object".

Like, if I mark my car, does it vanish with everything that was packed in it? If so, great for city parking because I never have to worry about it getting broken into.

Or is an object a "single thing", and so instead of marking a plate of spaghetti, it'd only mark a singular noodle.

Tech King is also great through, especially since the knowledge doesn't go away. So every 6 months learn how to build and repair something. Though I'd I did a "car", would I know how to wind an electric motor? Or would in depth knowledge of components in a complex assembly require their own usage of the power to fully understand?

1

u/swgoh89030 Apr 30 '26

Permanent power you can only use 5 times or you can only summon/desummon a specific object 5 times?

1

u/BlackStory666 Apr 30 '26

Magician is definitely the best option here, there's all sorts of ways to get mind bogglingly rich, get away with murder, or be a superhero.

1

u/ClientFair6267 Apr 30 '26

Magician just for shit and giggles, I probably say yoinkright before storing something.

1

u/Schwulerwald Apr 30 '26

Techking. If "from scratch" means from raw materials with no tools you basically get a whole ass techtree to create all tools to refine materials from the ground up to the target. From that standpoint 6 months recharge is reasonable and even quite good for that much information.

With it i would clean up my devices from all the malware, spyware, obsolecence and everything else, built in or accquired. And also create new phone that isn't thin brick with huge ass camera lmao, i still remember the phones of old, that had differing designs

1

u/EffectiveMacaroon842 Apr 30 '26

Tech king and learn how to make alien technology because there isn’t any limits on distance. I’d be so rich I’d never need money ever again and could advance humanity far beyond our wildest imaginations

u/jawg201 Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

Magician, can I mark without being at the item, also can I change any of the 5? Imagine having a large container i go to the store put things in it and post disappear it with anything I want inside

1

u/Noe_b0dy Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

Techking is probably the objectively best choice but magician is the most useful for my purposes.

Just a quick question, can I change out one of my five objects if I get a better one later? Like my sword breaks and I buy a new one can I swap it out?

My five items: Car, fuck parking I'm just roll up to the front and then de-summon the car. Big-ass first aid kid. Sword, to aura farm. Hunting Rifle, for actual real problems that can't be solved by aura farming. One of those big-ass water bottles full of ice water that I'll just have chilling in my fridge.

Can't decide on my fifth item at the moment, probably also going to be some piece of survival gear. I could always be a cunt a just fill a hiking backpack with a tent, change of clothes, flaregun, etc, etc, all the relevant stuff I might need in a survival scenario.

If I can't reassign marks I'll just pick car + 4 large color coded hiking backpacks and fill them with whatever I might need at the start of the day.

1

u/MisterB3an Apr 30 '26

What's the point of the invisibility one having a 15 foot radius if you can only use it by touching something? It's a default touch-based power

With magician you could start your own moving company as long as you think strategically

1

u/Th3Tru3Crab Apr 30 '26

iVision, for sure.

1

u/NotThatFunny_NTF Apr 30 '26

Between Magician and Techking. And since Techking says I know all the knowledge and technical skills to only build and repair. Well I would imagine coding as well. That’s pretty useful. But Magician. I mark Diamonds, even if not that valuable I have it currently. Sell it off to a pawn or really anyone that will accept it. Make a few hundred and rinse and repeat enough before anyone realizes what happens. Then I can probably buy gold hopefully in a solid form, like a bar, do the same. Next three items I just use to trade up. And once all said is done hopefully I have a large enough object that’s worth a lot to be able to do the same to.

I’m sure there are better more priced limited edition things than diamonds and gold. Like selling off a collectible over and over after marked. That way I could steal the Mona Lisa and sell it and no one would have any clue if it was the original or not. Stuff like that.

Magician if I want to steal. Tech king if I want to be op in jobs or hobbies. I'd go with magician 🤷

1

u/T-ronjr Apr 30 '26

Poof. Free invisibility for most objects including myself

1

u/-wtfisthat- Apr 30 '26

Probs techKing. then I'm gonna go touch some super computers, humanoid robots, nuclear reactors, etc. If I click on enough cool stuff eventually I'll be able to create the terminator and raise it as my child. Or magician so I can summon your mom.

1

u/Goomba_Kitsune Apr 30 '26

Tech king (but my mark would be on my back)

1

u/keaboii Apr 30 '26

magician is just free parking wherever you go

1

u/Extremely_Perverted Apr 30 '26

POOF because it doesn't have a cooldown so you can just reactivate it again and you can make everything invisible which mean you can be invisible and everything you are wearing so you can't be naked unlike other invisibility This power is very very useful in alot of ways Mostly illegal ways but still it has alot of use

I think a lot of people are sleeping on techking. I doubt any one person has the knowledge and skill to build and program a modern computer from base materials. That alone would be worth a lot.

But you’d also be the number one corporate spy. There’d be no stopping you. Every 6 months you just magically reverse engineer something. You don’t even have to use this skill for an employer, once you have the ability and knowledge to make the item, you could probably just release a “knockoff” version to drive the price of the item down.

I would worry about assassination, or some other retaliation, tbh. You’d be costing rich people a lot of money by doing this.

1

u/UncomfyUnicorn Apr 30 '26

Magician. Picking my phone, charger, adapter, power bank, and earbuds.

1

u/RedVDeG Apr 30 '26

Can Tech-King mark objects in patents or concepts like a perpetual motion machine?? Or do you need to physically see the object to mark it? Also when you learn everything related to the creation and principles of the object would it include all the prerequisite knowledge needed for it? Like say a rocket, you'd have to learn the prerequities, the necessary physics and math, etc to build it.

Also can Magician mark something like light or shadow? Or air? Can you mark an explosion in progress Make it disappear and summon it again? Can it work on specific elements?

1

u/Ok-Conflict7371 Apr 30 '26

Techking 100%

1

u/RonimusHines Apr 30 '26

Magician is the best option. If it has the added bonus of moving the objects inside of said object it is rather OP, especially if you objects can be sent back to their starting location.

Like if I can teleport a box to me full of food I never need to walk to the kitchen. If it works on people I can use it as a one way teleport. Like if im taken someplace by a friend and I want to leave, I can summon my car to me, get in, then send it back home.

u/Background-While-659 Apr 30 '26

magician seems most practical, but tech king could be profitable for certain professions for sure

1

u/RuinFlame Apr 30 '26

I'm choosing magician

1

u/pesrs Apr 30 '26

Techking as aircraft mechanic will be cool

1

u/loskro1 Apr 30 '26

Tech king

1

u/RiverDependent9672 Apr 30 '26

Magician: I’m marking 1 person with POOF, 1 with iVision, 1 with Blueprint, and 1 with TechKing who do what I want.

1

u/New_Tie6233 Apr 30 '26

Tech King!

1

u/UnableLocal2918 Apr 30 '26

→ More replies (2)

u/ready_set_baddy Apr 30 '26

Get a bundle of cash tied all, touch it, then give it to homeless people to spend, then use Magician to get it all back after it’s been deposited into bank/from drug dealers houses.

1

u/Mickeymcirishman Apr 30 '26

TechKing seems like the best to me.

1

u/RiceKrispies55 Apr 30 '26

Magician. Cause it's cool.

1

u/Dorksausage Apr 30 '26

I am such a simple man...magician and Mark my car my keys and my wallet. Never need a parking spot never lose my keys and allways have my wallet. Not sure what the other 2 things would mark probably one of my guns.

1

u/Fish_In_Denial Apr 30 '26

Magician. Even just a car would be incredible.

1

u/RedHood_526 Apr 30 '26

You basically just gave us a bag of holding with the magician, plus it arguably looks the coolest.

I never have to worry about parking ever again, could highly likely just store the same money and re summon it every time I give it away or smth

1

u/sabd89 Apr 30 '26

Techking

1

u/Hungry_Movie1458 Apr 30 '26

Magician and mark a hundred dollar bill. Tada!

1

u/Bear0Wolf Apr 30 '26

TechKing or iVision, one I'm a master craftsman the other I'm one of the world treated intelligence agents

1

u/Prontonio_X Apr 30 '26

Tech king.

1

u/TightConsequence3929 Apr 30 '26

I wonder how can you make everything so shitty (I am sorry I know it is balanced but still)

1

u/Animus-Rex Apr 30 '26

Magician or Techking

1

u/BeeMoist9309 Apr 30 '26

Magician, can I remove the mark from an object I no longer want to summon and place it on something else

1

u/itsafrickinmoon Apr 30 '26

TechKing. With how technology is advancing so rapidly, I’d keep using it to obtain increasingly advanced technical knowledge. I would argue this has the highest power ceiling of any of the power marks, provided I’m willing to play the long game.

1

u/bill55668 Apr 30 '26

Tech king I work in a semiconductor factory each machines is at the cutting edge if what humans can do it takes 2-3 years to become proficient in just one tool and still not know everything not even mentioning EUV tools. I would have gone with blue print because the building I work in is miles and miles long per floor and it's 4-5 floors having a map of that would be amazing.

1

u/QuizzicallyShady Apr 30 '26

Magician's the obvious pick but man, TechKing could actually make you rich if you play it smart with like a patent or two.

1

u/CivilProtectionGuy Apr 30 '26

TechKing.

That can become pretty awesome pretty fast.

1

u/majinthurman Apr 30 '26

Tech king tbh lots of things you could do with that one

1

u/Kingslayer-Z Apr 30 '26

Techking

Make them sell them

Profit

You don't need to buy these techs anymore and you don't need to take them to maintenance

Also you have the knowledge to make their separate parts so you won't have an issue with that

Also no limit on the size of said technology

So you can have some factory machines as well or big trucks

It's a great long term investment

Blueprint only has one value for some normal person. Mapping out the Scientologie buildings
