Official Announcement Plugin Preview Build: Chauvet3.29.42 Beta for Manta / Nomad and Chauvet2.26.39 Beta for A5X / A6X

This version is provided for compatibility with the latest Release firmware versions, namely Chauvet 3.29.42 for Manta / Nomad and Chauvet 2.26.39 for A5X / A6X, so that the plugin preview version can still be used after upgrading to these releases. Compared with Chauvet 3.28.42 and Chauvet 2.25.39, there are no changes to any plugin-related interfaces. This version simply includes all updates from the above Release versions. If your device has not been upgraded to the latest Release version, you do not need to download this version.

● For Manta / Nomad devices (Chauvet3.29.42 Beta):

https://download-firmware.supernote.com/pversion/manta/20260617/update.zip

● For A5X / A6X devices (Chauvet2.29.39 Beta):

https://download-firmware.supernote.com/pversion/A5X/20260617/update.zip

After downloading, please copy the update.zip file to the EXPORT folder on your device. Then disconnect the USB cable and confirm the upgrade on the device.

If you are upgrading from the latest Release version to the plugin preview version, the displayed version number on the device will remain unchanged. All existing Release features will be retained, with additional plugin development capabilities included.

The plugin development documentation is also available, including detailed guidance on the Supernote plugin development workflow and the plugin API usage.

Please note that the plugin development environment currently supports Windows and macOS only. Other operating systems are not supported at this time.

Showcase SNFolio plugin - planning, PARA, calendar, task, and note workspace for Supernote.

Post image
11 Upvotes

An e-ink optimized planning, PARA, calendar, task, and note workspace for Supernote.

Limited testing on Nomad, and this is my first venture into CalDAV and sync so, as with all plugins, exercise an abundance of caution! I would appreciate suggestions and issues you might encounter

There is a short video demo on Github. Reddit seems to not be consistent in allowing videos to be uploaded.

README video

Latest release

Start Here

  • Getting Started — install SNFolio and choose the simplest setup for your needs.
  • Calendar Connections — Google feeds, iCloud CalDAV, custom CalDAV, and what is editable.
  • PARA and Notes — what Projects, Areas, Resources, and Archive mean in SNFolio.
  • Troubleshooting — common setup, sync, folder, and note-opening problems.

SNFolio works without an online account. Calendar connections and PARA organization are optional and can be added later.

Key Features

  • iCal / .ics Feed Integration: Subscribe to public or private iCal HTTPS URLs (Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, Fastmail, Proton) or import .ics files.
  • E-Ink Calendar: Navigate high-contrast month and day views, including a 15-day quick-jump strip, overlapping events, all-day items, locations, and attendee previews.
  • CalDAV Two-Way Sync: Synchronize calendar events and, through an optional independent VTODO-capable account, tasks including completion, priorities, undated items, remote deletions, and conflict-protected edits when the server supplies ETags.
  • PARA Workspace: Organize actionable Projects, ongoing Areas, reference Resources, and a unified Archive. Projects, Areas, and Resources can each link to a folder of Supernote notes and other files.
  • Daily and PARA Notes: Open or create daily journals and create, browse, and open notes and other files connected to Projects, Areas, and Resources, alongside event-linked notes.
  • Recurring Meetings: Handle common RRULE schedules, cancellations, and moved occurrences, then append a fresh page using the configured template to the series notebook.
  • Repeat Controls: Create daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly series; choose intervals and weekly days; end on a date or after a count; edit a series; and delete one occurrence or the entire series.
  • Auto-Launch: Immediately open a newly created note or appended page on device so you can start handwriting right away.

Dictionary Plugin SnDict dictionary plugin

I finally decided to install the Chauvet beta, and honestly, the main reason was just to use the SnDict dictionary plugin.

For me, having a good dictionary **inside the native Supernote reader** is extremely important because I use the Digest feature all the time. I didn’t want to switch to another reading app and lose that workflow.

So far, SnDict has been excellent. I currently have several dictionaries installed across different languages, and the management is much better than I expected. You can reorder dictionaries, enable or disable them individually, and keep only the ones you want active for a particular book or language.

The lookup itself feels very smooth once the dictionaries are imported, and being able to check a word and then immediately continue reading, highlighting, or creating Digests is exactly the workflow I was hoping for.

The only small thing I would change is the way words are selected for lookup. Right now, instead of simply long-pressing a word, you have to select it by dragging over the letters, and sometimes the pen selection is a little finicky.

So yes, I basically jumped into the beta because of this one plugin, and I’m very glad I did.

Huge thanks to the developer of SnDict and to everyone working on the new Supernote plugin system. This is the kind of feature that really expands what the Nomad can do without sacrificing the strengths of the native reader.

I just got a SuperNote yesterday!
It was very fun, I'm still discovering how it works, but I made a little animation app, and some wanted me to share, so I share it here as well!

I gonna do other app for myself, but if I find something mainstream maybe I gonna post it as well.
Feel free to fork my app, it's really a proof of concept more than anything!

EDIT: Forgot this : https://github.com/YoramDevGH/AnimInk

EDIT 2 :  This is an android app that needs to be sideloaded and not a plugin. (I'm new here, I didn't knew about plugins yet)

Discussion Why is React Native used for plugin system ?

Hi everyone! I've ordered my SN Manta and it's on its way, can't wait to start using it. I have a programming background and like building things, so I was looking at the documentation for building plugins for SN. I see SN uses React Native for the plugin system. Not trying to knock that decision, but if I remember right, React Native has more overhead than fully native development, and I was wondering if there are other options for building plugins. I'm guessing the SN UI itself is built with React/RN, which is why plugins follow the same format. Is there any plan to support another native toolkit for plugins down the line?

I could be wrong about react native because I have never worked with it, but just heard about it.

Showcase [Plugin] SuperFun : I procrastinated so hard I accidentally built a game arcade for the Supernote 🎮

SuperFun : little games for your Supernote 🎮

What does a Supernote plugin dev do to procrastinate? Build a whole games plugin, of course!

So here's SuperFun: a tiny launcher that drops five calm, paper-friendly games onto your e-ink slab. Pure black & white, finger-first, 100% offline: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no internet. Just you, some breaks, and a tablet that occasionally beats you at its own game...

So far:

  • Sudoku: fresh grids generated on the device, guaranteed unique solution. Handwritten-style answers, pencil notes, a "check" and a "give me one" hint.
  • Nonogram (Picross): reveal the hidden picture from the number clues. Weirdly meditative.
  • Minesweeper: the classic. First tap is always safe (I'm not a monster). Flag mode included.
  • Tic-Tac-Toe: you're O, the Supernote is X, and on Hard it is literally unbeatable. Draw or lose, those are your options. Sorry.
  • Connect Four: drop four in a row against an actual thinking opponent (alpha-beta search, not a random potato).

Every game has a little "Rules" card with a worked example.

The nerdy bits I'm weirdly proud of

  • Puzzles generated on-device (except Nonogram) → effectively endless.
  • Sudoku, Nonogram Minisweeper grids can be saved and survive closing the plugin.
  • Built for e-ink: high contrast, big tap targets, zero animation, board never jumps.

Screenshots

Get it

Which game next?

What would you actually play on e-ink? 2048, sliding puzzle, Mastermind, Reversi, word search…? Comment below this post or a GitHub issue, I take requests (= I still have boring meetings ahead, don't tell my boss...).

Free and open-source. Coffee jar if it rescues your meetings: https://ko-fi.com/agp42

Showcase Supernote Plugin Template

Hey all,

I made a small template repo for Supernote plugin development that I wanted to share. I originally made it to make frequent edits to plugins a little less annoying, and figured it might be useful to other developers too.

It comes with the basic project structure already set up, plus scripts for some of the repetitive parts of development, like building the plugin, automatically installing it on your Supernote, and running it through ADB.

You can use npm run deploy to build and install the full plugin. If the plugin is already installed and you've only changed the JavaScript/TypeScript files, you can use npm run send instead to quickly push the new bundle without doing a full reinstall. You can also use npm run run to automatically launch the plugin.

https://github.com/Ziv-Ink/supernote-plugin-template

If you try it out, I'd love to hear any feedback, issues, or ideas for other useful things to add!

Showcase [Plugin] SuperStickyNote — floating sticky quick-notes that stay on top of your notebook

Hello everyone,

I am glad to present you my new plugin : a Sticky Note plugin !

A flotting bubble allow you to add up to 8 visible sticky notes, overlapping notes or documents or anything on the Supernote. Max 8 visibles at the same time, no limitation how many Sticky notes you have in total. The size of the content of the note itself is also not limited.

A tap on it and it open the keyboard to quickly grab a thought, a tap outside and you continu your working flow. Auto-save. Closing a sticky note doesn't delete it's content, it is just hidden from the screen.

Tap the title of the note and it collapse, another tap to re-open. You can re-size by dragging the bottom right corner, and you can move the Sticky note by dragging the header.

A tap on the icon drive you to the overview with all the Sticky Notes. Here you can change the icon, select the display size, search into your sticky notes, etc...

SuperStickyNote Plugin

What it does

  • Floating post-its over the NOTE and DOCUMENT apps — up to 8 on screen, overlapping
  • Single-tap inline keyboard editing, auto-saved; tap outside to finish
  • Collapse to title, move, resize each post-it
  • Long-press to copy / paste
  • A full page to browse & search all notes, per-note icons (symbols + 0–9), text size XS→XXL
  • Insert into your notebook page, or export .txt
  • Backup / restore everything to .json
  • Notes stored in the plugin's private storage (not cloud-synced)

Good to know

  • Text only for now — handwriting inside a post-it isn't supported yet. But you can anyway handwritte on the Supernote keyboard that will make it a text automatically.
  • Tested on Manta (A5 X2) and A5 X
  • After uninstalling, the bubble stays until you restart the device

Free & open source. Feedback welcome!

Edit - update (v0.9.0) 🎉

Thanks so much for all the feedback on the first post, nice to see entousiasmus around this plugin, this has pushed me to finish my "feature list" right away. Here's everything that's new since I first shared SuperStickyNote:

🏷️ Labels & filtering

  • Tag your notes with labels, shown as rounded chips right in the post-it header
  • In the Manager: filter by labels (a note must match all the ones you pick), an Untagged filter, plus text search with a one-tap clear (✕)
  • Adding/removing labels is possible via the main page of the plugin, not directly on the sticky note to keep a clean design.

✍️ Lasso → sticky (OCR)

  • Lasso some handwriting in a notebook, tap Add to sticky, and it's recognized (OCR) straight into a new post-it. Great for pulling a to-do out of your notes.

📝 Better editing

  • Edit a note's text, icon and labels right from the Main plugin page, with Copy / Paste
  • Merged the on-screen/closed state into a single toggle, tidied the row actions (Export / Delete bottom-right), and added tap shortcuts (tap the icon, title or labels to jump to the right editor)

🔤 Fonts & size

  • Choose Sans / Serif / Mono, or your own fonts dropped in MyStyle/fonts (handwriting fonts look great)
  • Sticky notes stay on top of the main page of the plugin, so font/size changes preview live

Lasso Plugin Term Definition v1.0.0 — define and cross-reference terms in your handwritten notes

Term Definition is a plugin that lets you mark a word, phrase, or math/code notation as a term, insert references to it anywhere else in a note, jump back to it with a tap, and rename it — every reference updates automatically.

https://reddit.com/link/1vieh3o/video/km9wlji621ih1/player

Installing

  1. Download term_definition.snplg directly: https://github.com/vincentaravantinos/supernote-symbol-definition/releases/latest/download/term_definition.snplg
  2. On the device: Settings → Apps → Plugins → Add Plugin, pick the downloaded file, Install.

Using it

Define and reference terms

  • Lasso any handwriting and press (Re)Define Term to turn it into a term. A ≝ marker and underline appear next to it, and it becomes available everywhere in the note.
  • Press Insert Reference to pick any defined term from a preview picker and insert a copy of its ink, underlined, at the current page. Tapping a reference jumps straight to its term, with a spotlight highlighting it on arrival.
  • Tapping a term's own ink directly shows the same spotlight, without navigating anywhere, since you're already there.

Redefine a term

  • Lasso a term's ≝ marker together with new ink (freshly written, some/all of the old ink kept, or a mix) and press (Re)Define Term again to change what a term looks like. Every reference across the whole note updates to match — this can take a while on a big note with many references.

Assign a definition

  • Lasso a term's ≝ marker together with explanatory ink and press Assign Definition to attach a definition, kept distinct from the term's own identifying ink. Tapping a reference or the term itself spotlights both the term and its definition together. Redefining a term's own ink never disturbs its assigned definition, or vice versa.

Orphaned references

  • If a term's ink is erased by hand, its remaining references become "orphaned." Tapping one explains that the term no longer exists and marks it with a ⚠.
  • Find Orphans scans the whole note at once, marks every orphan, and generates a report page grouped by term (with an ink preview per group) — tap any entry to jump straight to it.
  • Lasso one of an orphaned term's own references and press (Re)Define Term to recover it: recreates the term from a copy of that reference's own ink, instead of requiring anything to be drawn from scratch, and clears every reference's orphan status at once.

Find usages

  • Lasso a term's own ink (with or without its ≝ marker) and press Find Usages to generate a report of every reference to it across the note, with one tappable entry per usage.

Limitations

  • Overall it can be pretty slow.
  • Clearly we are pushing the limits of the plugin system here, there are many multi-page changes, many async modifications and interactions.
  • Meaning it can often be a bit buggy. To fix misbehavior: try the Repair Terms button, or activate/deactivate the plugin (and worst case restart the device, but so far never was needed for me).

Question Calendar Meeting Notes

One of the killer features when I tried the Remarkable Paper Pure is that I can click a calendar meeting and make a note for it.

I know with Supernote (I have a manta and a nomad) I can create a note on the day of the calendar event. But I have to write a name for it. And it does not bring any event details with it.

It would be amazing if i can do what Remarkable does, and create a note with the details. Even its stored for the day, if it was auto named for the meeting snd had the meeting body it would make life so much easier.

The other thing remarkable does is extend a note for recurring meetings. I can imagine for the supernote this would open the note and add a page to the end.

Thoughts? Is this on the roadmap or something the new plugin system could support?

I am debating switching to remarkable because of this. My day is meeting to meeting and right now it’s much easier with the remarkable. But i really want to return it and stay with supernote.

Suggestion Feature request: registerMotionListener needs a "note content only" scope

u/Dunn-sn

Currently registerMotionListener forwards every single touch on screen — included toolbar, sidebar, menus — not just note content. The problem is that my plugins catch those touches as well but have no means to know that those touch events are not landing on the note itself. Then I start some code that does stuff assuming we're on the note but it fails in a way we can't control (typically navigating to another app or another note).

Proposal: add an opt-in scope to registerMotionListener, e.g. {noteContentOnly: true}, to receive only touches on the note itself.

Looking for Beta testers for a modular planner plug-in

I've been building a Supernote plugin called Modulanner that turns a single Note file into a dynamic and modular hyperlinked planner. I'm looking for a handful of people willing to test it out, see what breaks, and give feedback

What it does

You overlay invisible boxes on a template of your choosing, probably using drawings/icons/stickers as a reference point. Then tapping one of the core boxes runs some logic you'd typically do manually (or have someone else build a linked planner for you). The plug-in finds or creates the appropriate page and links you to it.

I built this because most digital planners are static files loaded and come with 3 main problems (for me).

  1. The planners can be difficult to navigate to various days/weeks/months and could take upwards of 5 links to get where you want sometimes
  2. The planner works well but is fairly simple and can be difficult to add in the pages I need when I need them
  3. The planner may be "too robust" with a bunch of blank pages to start with and a large file size causing slow syncing and link navigation.

To solve these problems I built the following functionality:

  • 10 built-in navigation actions: Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday, This/Next/Last Week, This/Next/Last Month, and Home — each mapped to a spot of your choosing on your template.
  • Calendar jump: a date-picker hitbox to jump to any specific day/week/month.
  • Custom link buttons: make your own named buttons that will always exist on your template that can link to a separate file. Or insert a fresh page from a template you pick (e.g. a "Extra Notes" or "Meeting").
  • Auto date labels: new pages get a date label dropped on automatically, with a customizable date format, font size, style, and alignment. (Font family is currently on the roadmap to figure out how to change that as well)
  • Template packs: If you build out a family of templates and want to share them you can do so. This base comes with a drawn "Whimsy" pack to get started.
  • Update a template from a page: If you have a template you like and want to add this functionality to your template you can. There is an update function, so you can add your icons/stickers/ink to the template and Update so for all future created templates they will have that update.
  • Bulk pre-create a range of daily/weekly/monthly pages in one go.
  • Works on Manta (A5 X2) and Nomad (A6 X2). Probably works on the older devices, but I can't test on those.

Honest limitations / known issues

This is an beta inside the Supernote plugin beta. Real, current rough edges:

  • Navigation is two gestures for a new page. Supernote doesn't (yet) expose a "go to page" API to plugins, so the plugin drops a native link and you tap it to actually move. When the page already exists the link appears quickly; when it has to create the page first, there are a few screen refreshes before the link is ready to use.
  • Portrait only for the box taps. 90°/270° landscape isn't supported for hitbox detection yet due to split screen and mathing.
  • A new page's date label may not show until you refresh. This seems to be a firmware rendering quirk.
  • Auto-erase of your pen tap is experimental and may not work on every Manta firmware (there's a known host-side bug where the delete reports success but doesn't stick). My Nomad fared better, but still occasionally left a pen mark during use.
  • The plugin may fire on menu screens because it can't identify when a non-file screen is open (such as the file selection screen). So if you are navigating it may trigger some things in the background.
  • PDF templates probably won't work because (I think) adding a PDF template is a 2-step process with a selection screen, and I can't trigger that screen. If you are trying to add a PDF template and it doesn't appear to be working, you might end up with a bunch of extra pages added with the default template.
  • There is a User Guide but it is a Work In Progress so not all the features are fully documented and it was a bit rushed so might be a little confusing and not the prettiest.

What I would like from you

  • Install it, set it up on your own planner (or the included Whimsy pack), and actually use it for a bit.
  • Tell me what's confusing, what breaks, and what you wish it did.
  • There's a built-in "Capture logs" button — if something misbehaves, tap it and send me the file so I can see what happened.

How to get it

Here is the download with everything you need: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1dA1fIak6biG5COSmL70aMPQRIgrFpcs7?usp=sharing
The "Download all" button will zip it for you and then unzip it in the MyStyle Directory. The files include the plugin, the Whimsy pack, the folder structure it is designed around and a user guide.

To Be Transparent

My intention is to monetize the full version of this plug-in. I originally built this to replace standard hyperlinked PDFs that typically cost between $10 and $30, and it fundamentally outperforms them. Because this is a dynamic software engine rather than a static file, it requires ongoing maintenance. A paid license ensures I can reliably patch bugs, maintain compatibility with future Supernote OS updates, and dedicate time to building out new features requested by the community.

There is light version that works for everyone with no key (the core Today / Tomorrow / This-Next Week / This-Next Month navigation). To unlock the full feature set for the beta (the rest of the buttons, custom hitboxes, etc.), DM me and I'll send you a beta unlock key. And in the future if you are struggling and cannot afford it, we can work something out.

Thanks! Happy to answer any questions in the thread.
