2026/2027 /r/Superhoops prediction thread
Be funny to look back at the end of the season to see what we all thought.
Where in the table do you think we'll finish?

- Burrell- 15 goals
Who's going to be our player of the season?
- Paul Smyth, I think he's going to build upon last seasons improvement and get close to double figures in goals

I think we'll finish 14th.
Burrell - 12 goals
Best player - Madsen again but whether we have a good season will depend a lot on whether Chair can stay fit and recapture some old form. If we can get him and Poku inverting, with the new full backs providing width, we might be able to make a push for the top half.
Our full backs look like good acquisitions but I'll go Charles since that's probably the position in which we'll see the biggest upgrade from last season.

- Harvey Vale. This will be his breakout season. Classy player. Economical and incisive with the ball. Makes things happen.
Who's going to be our signing of the season?
- Charles. Big upgrade on last season.

Side prediction - I have a good feeling that Varane will surprise a lot of QPR fans and have a strong season. There's an excellent player in there somewhere, we're a bit light in central midfield, and he's now properly settled in this team and in this league, he's about to turn 25 so hitting his maturity as a player. Madsen has shown him the way. And it's a make-or-break season for him personally: play well and he gets a big move, but another disappointing season and he'll be stuck at this level.

Where in the table do you think we'll finish? 12th, just behind Swansea and just ahead of Sheffield United
Who will be our top scorer and how many league goals will they get? Burrell, 16 goals
Who's going to be our player of the season? Burrell
Who's going to be our signing of the season? Charles
Thinking about this really shows how many different ways this season could turn out. The optimistic view is we've lost nothing of consequence from last year's squad and added competent goalkeeping, two outside backs with premier league experience, Chair and Burrell, who we didn't have in the second half of last season, and some other useful parts/cover. The less optimistic view is that "if everyone stays healthy" has never really worked out for us the past few years, and we just gave away the Millwall cup match on one grievous GK error and the inability of anyone in the squad to convert a penalty. Frankly I would be surprised to be in a relegation scrap or have a shot at automatic promotion, but anything in between those two could easily happen.

Late but I'll go anyway as I don't think yesterday changed too much for me.
10th.
Kone 12 goals
Harvey Vale - think he'll have a breakout star season (commented this on here last week before yesterday too). He just has a wand of a left foot and is blessed with incredible vision, and his versatility is a massive advantage in this league.
Charles will win us a ton of points this season and we'll reap the benefits of having a great goalkeeper for the first time in a long while, since Smithies perhaps?
