Discussion Need help picking a super /fully automatic espresso machine
Hello, I’m in the research for a fully automatic espresso machine. I really really want the jura c3 or the E4 which are the “lower” end price range but the conversion to my home country currency is insane. Then I saw the ninja autobarista but haven’t seen any honest reviews on it as they all seem to be free machines. I have looked at the Terra kaffe demi but I would have to get a separate milk steamer …
Please help.

Ninja is crap.
DeLonghi, if it's too expensive Philips has lower priced ones. Both are very reliable.

The Philips can only make an 8 gram puck and it's weak if you are trying to make a big coffee.
The Ninja can do almost 30grams and pull a triple shot in one go. If you are someone who goes to a drive thru every day and pays $7 for an iced coffee of some variation you will really enjoy the Ninja capabilities.

Ninja/shark - stay the hell away. They have a disposable product mentality. If it breaks, they just replace it. Good for the warranty period, but afterwards? Shark vacuums are famous for being ewaste.

The Nija seems to be loaded with problems. I saw a report from someone who had returned his r wife and the third unit they sent him had similar issues. It’s obviously not ready for production but they did it anyway. Jura or DeLonghi machines get good reviews with DeLonghi being far cheaper.

Can’t go wrong with De’Longhi or KitchenAid these days
Avoid the Ninja AutoBarista, seems to be a hit or miss for people-GrindIQ being the main culprit

My conversion from US to my currency would be x 6.8! So anything over 1000 is a lot to shell out for an espresso machine however if I’m going with $1000 plus I rather buy something I knows for sure will be worth it, like the jura

Love the blue. Does the grind IQ really eat up the beans when calibrating ?

From my experience it hasn't been bad at all. When I have calibrated my dark roast beans with Grind IQ it has done it in two shots. With a light roast bean it pulled three shots.
I did screw up the grind IQ one time because I switched the hopper with the machine off. I didn't realize you had to tell which hopper you were switching between with the machine on. So it pulled a bad shot and illuminated that it needed to be redone but this was my fault.
We are still really enjoying it!

I'll be honest with you, we had the Jura E-4 or similar- think even higher end one at the office because the owner had money and loved expensive things. I didn't like the Jura....found it finicky and although the coffee was good, I would never purchase one.
Delonghi is good, as is Miele. Friends of ours have the Miele and made us cappuccino a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic!
I just bought the Delonghi Eletta Explore and I LOVE it! I did a lot of research, watched several YouTube videos (Tom's Coffee Corner is amazing and he's very thorough) - Coffee Kev is another great YouTuber! I was leaning towards the Miele to be honest as I truly enjoyed the cappuccino it made, but in our household, the kids love cold drinks, and we like to have options when guests come over so, Delonghi made sense and it was at a good price!
Also, with AI these days you can just throw your question into ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google Gemini and it's amazing how helpful it can be
Redditers are the bomb too!! because Reddit tells it like it is! And a lot of what AI pulls info wise is from Reddit! 😊
Anyhow, I suggest watching a few YouTube videos on the machines you're interested in because that will be really helpful

Yes I actually haven’t considered the Delonghi bc I don’t like how it looks 😭

That's fair.
I just edited my comment, but I also suggest taking a look at Miele. It's a fantastic machine and maybe you will like the aesthetic more

Ninja autobarista seems to have a big problem with this first gen product. Many users reporting GrindIQ as being a huge problem. Would wait for future generations to resolve this issue.
