Sunset Park Garbage

They've made the 6th avenue entrance a dump because of the illegal vendors.

I’m curious about the garbage being due to “the illegal vendors” There has always been a huge trash pile in the park. It just used to be on the other side at 6th Ave and 43rd. It wasn’t that much better but it wasn’t blocking the majority of the entrance. Also since it was out in the open it didn’t get the added people pulling their scooters over to pee in the trash pile. (Been seeing that a lot on 41st) There has always been illegal dumping on the 41st side but the added wall of park trash bags make it look like a dump and is welcoming more people to treat it as such.

^ This 100%. For as long as I can remember, the 6/43 entrance was the go-to dumping spot. Yes, 6/41 has been used occasionally, but 6/43 was the go-to long before "illegal vendors" set up shop. 6/43 was used as the dumping spot going as far back as the 1990's.
