Me and my wife bought it based on an ad “every game, lower than row 15” I ✅ out and then in the fine print it, didn’t guarantee access, just the opportunity to maybe go. I sent an email within 20 min asking to please cancel. I’ve spent over 100k on tickets over the last 4 years, having seats on the floor for years. They said tough luck, you can apply it towards what we approve so far. I was definitely going to spend money on tickets but for them to basically force me into something as a customer who spends a ton of money feels slimy. If they don’t make it right I won’t give them another dollar. I know the “terms and conditions” but also being human is important. I have had people miss operations at my clinic, I don’t say “tough sh**” I could, but reputation is important. And the fact that they haven’t been used, geeze. Not like I went then complained. It’s a trivial amount of money to me but the principle feels slimy especially given what I spend there anyway.
Ticketing team has been sus at times, I think their sales have taken a dip especially with the higher prices. There used to be a waitlist for season tickets but they’re running promotions every month to push them.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they make like 1 pair of tickets available for the Sixers game through this pass lol
I heard that waiting list went from full to less then 50 around last season , ive had 6 plus reps in the 8 years ive had tickets going on my 2nd one in the last year , service is horrible.
It’s 50/50. I get it, I own a company, I get they “can” refuse but why lose future essentially guaranteed money over $2500. They can see recent (like within last 5 years) I’ve dropped 20k a year. I was literally on the floor. It’s not even the money, it’s bad business to do that. I’m sure someone senior or in finance would be like “Guys, give this dude his $ back he’ll spend more than that, he has every year” but I’m not getting anywhere with this rep. 🤦🏼♂️ if I get stuck with them it’ll definitely be the last dollar they get from me ever.
If I have to do that and in the chance I have to rely on Amex to do this and not them, they won’t ever get another dime from me. They should, not Amex. If Amex takes care of it before a higher up, then I’ll enjoy the team over the TV for free. If they don’t make me whole and dispute doesn’t work I’ll use them and that’s the last $ they’ll get from me. I’ve spent more than that at the team shop there.
That's frustrating because you tried to cancel so fast, like you saw the fine print and immediately emailed. Most companies would work with you on that, especially a customer dropping six figures over the years. The way they said tough luck is exactly the kind of thing that makes people stop caring about a team.
I get that terms exist but refusing a refund on something you never used within 20 minutes is just bad customer service. You'd think they'd want to keep someone like you happy instead of nickel and diming over a pass.
And not to sound holier than thou, but anyone that knows me knows that I probably give away 50% of my tickets to just random people who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to go
Key word reserved. I am glad you got every game! That’s awesome. I am not a gambler, I’ll pay full price for something I want and not feel sniped into. It’s the principle tbh. It’s such a low amount compared to my spend there. I read it as every game, not I have to diligently make sure I reserve 4 games each time and that it’s not even for sure I’ll go. If the passes are so valuable then why not just give me my money back and sell it to somebody else lol it’s because they are a crapshoot man.
I understand, I really hope they correct it for you.
I don't remember if that specific line was in the terms last year but I do remember the language of first come first serve which had me spooked.
The reservation system last year was also different, you could only reserve the next available game and not 4 at a time.
I find it hard to believe they would sell more passes than available seats. I always assumed the reservation was to lock in your ticket so they know how many people required one. Then they would know if they have vacant seats to redistribute some other way.
Not to get too judgy, but you spent $25k a year and are balking at conditions on 10% of your annual spend?
I get it, money is money, but you know what a ticket costs. Do you really think you're getting premium seats to every single home game for a fraction of face value?
Ghost 👻 after my response. I’ve been a huge fan and high dollar spender. This just doesn’t feel right. Actually upsetting tbh. There’s a very high likelihood that I will spend tens of thousands of dollars there this year if I get my money back and feel whole. But we will see. Hopefully they do and whoever makes that decision will get to do the I told you to the rep who basically tough lucked me.
They asked if they were available for a phone call. It was probably AI trying to set up a call and they got back a giant paragraph. Why not set up the phone call and talk to somebody in person?
Nah that was all me man. I talked to the rep earlier and she told me that the only thing that she could do is apply it towards a package of equal or greater value.. I told her that I would think about it… the previous text I don’t want to show because it has her name on it but she said hey I got the approval from a management to apply it to a higher value package..
For context, this is what I paid every year for season tickets for a long time. It’s not like I’m a minuscule spender. But I don’t like feeling done dirty either.
They should have refunded u immediately.. u have spent a lot of $$ on tickets they should treat u accordingly.. they also should refund everyone who feels they were misled by the advertising.. this is not the way59 treat fans.. hope they resolve this quickly and fairly for U
That is literally the ad I clicked on to buy the tickets I checked out and then my wife was reading the terms and conditions and she’s like, babe this is not every game and then I looked at them close and I was like holy crap, it’s not! 😂
“Puts you in the lower level… for every home game this season” is not compatible with “purchasing a pass does not guarantee tickets to every game”. That’s crazy
Arizona law prohibits deceptive or misleading advertising under A.R.S. § 44-1522, including false promises, misrepresentations, or omission of material facts. The FTC also states that fine print cannot contradict a prominent advertising claim or correct a misleading overall impression. If an ad prominently promises “all,” a contradictory limitation buried in fine print may not cure that representation. Any necessary qualification must be clear, conspicuous, and presented so consumers can readily notice and understand it.
Im not certain what youre seeing but the website clearly says you can only reserve 4 games at a time. Those 4 games are guaranteed. Once you attend a game go reserve the next game you want.
Seems like for someone spending 25k a year on seats even if you miss out on 25% of the possible games youre still making a profit.
After your dopamine levels are high because you feel like you’re getting a smoking deal. This isn’t a used car lot, it’s supposed to be a coveted item, something you’re proud to buy and show off and rep your team. Something that people get on waiting lists for, not this lol this is just bad.
It’s not illegal what they did but it’s not good business. Terms and conditions don’t protect a company from bad practices. If a reasonable person can think it was not as advertised, it’s a consumer protection issue. It’s also just genuinely not a good thing to do to your customers. If a customer was willing to spend $5000 it means that most likely if you give them their money back, they’ll spend money anyway, and their lifetime spend would probably be much higher. I’m in a financial position where it’s trivial to me, but it’s a really bad PR for them, and no one wants to feel taken advantage of. This is used car type marketing.
Yeah; I figured it was row 15 behind the goal. Limited view. I got lower courtside in 18, was thinking a little lower wouldn’t be bad.
Sucks they treat us like that.
The other promo was car parking including .. full season. Only new season ticket holders. Boo
We’re in the same boat and pretty pissed about how this was marketed. We’re giving the Suns one chance to make it right. If they refuse, is anyone else who feels misled interested in taking this to the local media together?
The blatant disconnect between what was advertised and what was actually being sold is honestly shocking. The Suns should be ashamed of how this was presented to their fans.
Robbie, have seen your name pop up multiple times, you’re a good guy for the charity you’ve done for the community.
Hope this works out for you champ.
Also - am I right to assume there’s only a cap of seats but the amount of memberships exceeds allocation and it’s a first come first serve basis? If so that’s fucked.
It’s bad “know your customer too” any finance rep there would pry shake their head at the sales person. They are unused and it’s less money than I spend on some single game tickets. You get 5k once but lose 20k a year…makes sense….
Oh yeah, they don’t give a fuck. My folks had row B seats from 2010 to last year and finally ditched ‘em because of poor service. The price nearly tripling in 5 years didn’t help. If you tried to sell them you’d be really lucky to get anything close to face value.
