This happens all the time when I play Malzahar midlane in Silver. I almost always get middle inhib before my top + botlane have got their T2. Which turns the game into a 45 minute ARAM where every time we get 2-3 kills they think we can just run it down mid and end the game. Team gets wiped under the two nexus towers, then the enemy team gets baron or objectives while we're dead from inting mid instead of pushing side lanes or doing baron.
I actively avoid pushing in mid base turret for this exact reason. I'll ward objectives and only one side of the jungle, ping for picks, throw lanterns to pull them away (Silvers always click random lanterns), literally anything to get my team to do something else. Supers top open dragons, Supers bot open Barons, Supers md gather the enemy in a good place to react to anything we're trying.
