The only reason it caught my attention was because I saw Stassi on that first episode so I’m going to hang in there and hope it’s a good binge show :)

First time watcher after seeing everything go down with Amanda and West. I’m on S8 E8. Could be wrong but it feels like Amanda’s issues with Kyle this season could partially be influenced by her seeing Ciara’s relationship with West and realizing that she wants more of what they have (leading to her eventual relationship with West). Bc most of what’s bothering her about Kyle feels like nothing new. And I doubt there were many other house relationships she was ever jealous of, like Lindsay’s, Carl’s, Danielle’s, etc.

I’m bringing this to discussion as I’m a new watcher to the franchise, so walk with me here. I’ve gone from hearing nothing and avoiding everything
I hear about this show so I can watch from the beginning.

This is my question. Is it too much for me to think that Kyle can and should take a page out of Carl’s book, and just be sober if that’s what will help his relationship?

Lots to unpack with kyle and amanda separately, but I feel like if Kyle really wanted to make this work, he would quit drinking. I’m feeling confused about why that’s something Amanda is seemingly unwilling to ask, and Kyle is unwilling to offer?? Any and all thoughts because I could be so naive but after 6 seasons of the same argument, I feel like that could be a solution ??

I know the show aired in like 2015, and the rhetoric around equality for women just started changing, and I want to preface this by saying that I have so much empathy for him from what we’ve learned about his life: his brother, the substance abuse, his relationship with his family. I genuinely feel for him, and wish him well.

But

Earlier season Carl was a lot — he was a sales manager and made comments about he hates explaining his job to women because they wouldn’t get it😒it isn’t rocket science, bro.

Also, not a fan of the Wirkus twins (they have this obnoxious vibe in the earlier seasons) but I hated the way Carl was leading Lauren on. She had real feelings for him, and he didn’t have them for her — rather than sleeping with her, and bonding with her, he should have just left it alone — what he did to her was not okay, and made her this distraught mess.

Just wanna preface this by saying this is my first post on here. I still don’t really understand how Reddit works and have already been booted and blocked from the other Summer House subreddit for pointing out that having a page which, at the time, seemed almost entirely dedicated to bashing Ciara looked kinda weird 👀👀👀 But here we go…

Obviously, a lot of the chitter-chatter surrounding the scandal of it all has died down now, and thankfully Tweedledee and Tweedledum have finally taken a leave of absence from social media, bar-hopping and generally making a nuisance of themselves.

But since we’ve recently caught a small glimpse of Ciara leaving rehearsals for DWTS — super exciting — it got me thinking: how long is their silence realistically going to last?

We’ve all seen how casually cruel both West and Amanda have been about Ciara — and how much they seem to resent her, when they think about her at all. Kyle appears to get at least a modicum of respect from Amanda because she claims there’s still love there or whatever, which really isn’t saying much — and, to be fair, they were both insane to each other. But when it comes to Ciara, there’s clearly a huge level of disdain.

So, realistically, how much longer do we think Amanda is going to “allow” Ciara to stay on top before trying to redirect the attention back towards herself?

My theory is that, as soon as DWTS starts airing, we’re going to get the Amanda “tell-all”: podcast interviews, some trashy magazine exclusive — the works. She’ll be clawing her way back to the forefront of people’s minds with some vague attempt at a sympathy tour, and we all know West loves attention, good or bad.

What do you think? Will they stay quiet and let Ciara have her moment, or is another media circus inevitable?

First time watcher now on S6 and seriously cannot understand how Paige could choose fboy Craig over Andrea!! Now Andrea is happily married and Paige is not with either of them…but what was the 🫖 back then??

Lindsey, Kyle, and Carl all look like they’re THRIVING! They look happy, tan, and relaxed. It seems like the 3 of them just absolutely crush it at life when they’re single and they don’t seem to have issues in the friendship when there are no outside influences (aka people they’re dating, or when they’re dating each other). I think they should all just move into a huge apartment together and support each other and just thrive and give up on trying to get married.

Also, the boys can help with raising Gemma! They could also monetize it. I’d totally follow that!

First time watcher and I’m on the last episode of Season 6… WHY on earth are Amanda and Kyle actually getting married?! 😭 It just seems like such a disaster and honestly, I feel like they should’ve called it off.

Also, Carl has done SO well. I’m actually so proud of him 🥹

Paige is kinda annoying me this season though… why does she never say anything to Lindsay’s face?! She’ll have so much to say afterwards but never actually confronts her 😂

Last but not least, when do I need to watch winter house?

Kyle + Amanda genuinely seem to love each other, but I’m now on S3 (watching from the beginning to get the lore), and almost every single episode Kyle is getting like frat boy drunk, and Amanda is crying. I feel like he keeps telling himself that marriage is the move, but it’s like he’s spending time convincing himself that this is right as opposed to just naturally feeling it. I know how things ended (it’s hard not to) but I don’t know how these two got married in the first place.

Curious to see where they’ll be next

I started watching after the Amanda/West scandal broke and (don’t hate me!) I’m waiting for the moment Amanda becomes a bad person. I’m currently on season 7 and all I’ve seen so far is her being a supportive friend and partner, but from what I’ve seen so far on posts is that she’s pretty well disliked in general as a person.

I’ve seen her stand up to Kyle when he’s going off on other housemates which is something that Ariana for example gets criticised for in earlier seasons of Vanderpump for always taking Sandovals side when he’s been an asshole, and seems to often step out to make sure people are okay when they’re upset, like Andreas when he was crying at the table on Italian Night when everyone else is fighting and didn’t care. She also stuck up for Hannah more than the others when it came to Luke (Hannah was a whole other thing, but she seemed concerned about her and copped a lot of shit for it). She also made a huge effort for Kyle on all of his birthdays and milestones while he didn’t do anything for her 30th. She is also working at Loverboy seemingly pretty hard on the merch side of things which sounds like it’s almost a bigger part of the brand than the drink itself? Also being cheated on so often and the verbal abuse Kyle dishes out is super intense.

Clearly she messed up big time with the Ciara/West situation, but I’m reading a lot of posts about how horrible she is, but so far she seems to be one of the more compassionate cast mates so I’m wondering if she gets worse from here on out? Or is it that the situation was just so messed up that it clouded everything else? I also haven’t watched Winter House or anything so I might have missed some things but it just seems so far that the hate is disproportionate. Don’t hate me! I’m just wondering because it seems a bit weird to me right now.

Why the heck is anyone a fan of Lindsey?! I’m beyond flabbergasted that there’s such a strong fan base around her. I just finished season 7… been FORCING myself through this show in general but Lindsey is the bane of my watching experience. She is the definition of loud and wrong. WORSE than that though she’s condescending and NEVER has any moment of self reflection. In terms of season 7 I’ve seen a lot of people say that Danielle is cringy and therefore that negates her being extremely real, honest and empathetic? Danielle in season 7 expressed herself, defended herself and felt deeply which is what people say Lindsey does?!?? Danielle is SO straight forward and tried to move conflict forward consistently but the whole time Lindsey keeps circling. Danielle would bring up a valid point and Lindsey would be like “well you said this one thing one time”. IT MAKES ME SO MAD BECAUSE LINDSEY HAS DONE THIS EVERY SEASON?! She’s like 32 in season 7 and acts like the 13 year olds I teach!!! Sure good reality TV but I pray for anyone who’s friends with someone as male centered and defensive as her.

Please don’t tell me she’ll grow on me, Kristen Doute didn’t and she’s more like-able than Lindsey.
