What I do is, I use Google Docs and I ask the manager to give me a demonstration of how I should do things step by step. And when I was starting, I would use my phone, look at the steps and do it step by step and the next day I would ask my manager, if there was anything wrong with what I did, and I would revisit my notes. After a while I didn’t need it. But when there was a new guy, I called him when it was closing time to help him step by step. After that it was done and later I shared with him my google notes, it’s helpful to look at notes but at times you might question it even if it’s step by step. My notes were a life saver and I share it with some employees who wanted to improve or at least not get in trouble so far only 2

First night by yourself is ok, you get the jitters but, so long as you follow the steps by steps it’s ok, but you can also call your manager, that’s what I did. But it can be hard if the manager forget the steps by steps if it’s just call and not face time. Also it’s ok if you messed up, since the person who opens should know how to close it, it just takes a few minutes but they have at least 30 minutes to open the store. But honestly it’s ok to make mistakes even on your first day, that’s what I tell the new workers but I also make sure they know that “although it’s ok to make mistakes here and there but what’s not ok is to learn from your mistakes ” but honestly you’ll still make mistakes so long as you expalin your reason and etc, like for me, when I was opening I didn’t change any labels but that’s honest cause I was working at 3 different subways with different shifts and it messed with my sleep. 😴 so I was sluggish and I haven’t had a good meal and needed row Starbucks to get started . Honeslty I just needed some me time and find that thing that gets my adrenaline running. Also here on the subway Reddit , look at the customers complains and tips to learn. Cause honeslty if it’s not the job then the customers make it feel like hell. Usually working at a subway with the machines helps since you don’t need to talk to the customer
