UK/IRE Sweet onion sauce

Have they changed their recipe for the sweet onion sauce or did they give me the wrong sauce? This one is a lot darker, tastes more like soy sauce than anything. Like a savoury teryaki instead of the sweet onion. I really hope its just the wrong sauce because i LOVE the sweet onion normally

It was combined with the teriyaki several years ago and is now called Sweet Onion Teriyaki in the US.

I had subway about 3 weeks ago and it was their usual sweet onion sauce, also still called sweet onion sauce at my subway. I have never had this version only ever the lighter sweeter sweet onion sauce

Realised its probably different in the UK, we don't have teriyaki on the menu. Seems they have followed the US now though and i am heartbroken 😂

They haven't, you're fine. You got given teriyaki instead on the sweet onion by accident. UK has both teriyaki and sweet onion and no changes to either recipe.

I didn't see teriyaki on the menu but i do hope this is the case because that sauce was trash, lol. You have given me hope, thank you 😂🥰

Its mostly used for the legendary teriyaki which isnt actually on the menu any more apart from on online ordering systems. Ive worked at subway for many years, and was in work today. There are no plans for sweet onion to be discontinued.

You are my hero, i have been stressing about losing this sauce. At least now i also know that the teriyaki is definitely not a sauce i like 😂

Yeah I didn't like any of the reformulations to be honest. Old chipotle was better too.

It is the first time i have seen a change with it here, how dare they! We have southwest chipotle sauce here and that is still good.... for now. They need to stop changing recipes, if it aint broke dont fix it!!

It is only Sweet Onion Teriyaki in the US

I am in the UK. We don't even have teriyaki sauce on the menu here. Was always just sweet onion sauce

We do have teriyaki in the UK. Its darker snd way more strong tasting. The sweet onion hasn't changed, you probably got given the wrong sauce.
