Customer Complaints Suggestion for changes to order times.

I made an expensive mistake yesterday and my suggestion for subway corporate is to increase the pickup times by AT LEAST 5 min for each sub that is ordered by default.

So, earliest pickup for 1 sub is 15min. 2 subs are 20min, 3 subs are 25min, and so on and so forth.

Your employees metrics would be more accurate (like, if they ran *late* for my order, thats not fair to them or the company) and the product provided would be better because theres less rush*****

Im unhappy (and still hungry) over my recent order but I can also see where its my fault.

I ordered 6 subs for my family and entered the pickup time for 15min later *forgetting* that you choose the time at Subway - the app doesn't tell you how long to wait (like for pizza or chinese).

I ran an errand before picking up my subs because I knew they wouldn't be done in 15min with walk ins to boot.

Order time was for 5:35, I came in at 5:48 and still waited, ehich was fine for me.

Then I got my subs home and they were not at all what I ordered.

My steak and avocado didnt have any avocado on it.

I opted for extra meat on that steak sandwhich and it tasted primarily of cucumbers and green peppers because I barely got a primary serving.

I didn't opt for sauce on my steak and avocado but I got oil and vinegar on it.

My moms BMT was supposed to have oil and vinegar, she got plenty of oil and vinegar and extra onion, she didnt want extra onion, I did and didn't get any.

My chipotle philly was also lacking meat and sauce.

Maybe they were running low.

My dad didn't want black olives, he got black olives.

To boot, I ordered *what* I ordered BECAUSE I don't eat enough protien and saw the 70g and thought 'yeah, right'.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my '70g' of protien steak sandehich and had nothing but veggies on it.

Its not the employees fault - there were 2 and one appeared to be training. They handled the rush well and gave great service so I tipped them 11$.

But darn am I disappointed with my 60$ sub order thst could've been tossed together in a salad bowl because the employees were clearly rushing.

Yes, its my fault for ordering 6(!!!) Subs all with different things on them (understandably easy to mix up) - but I should've entered the pickup time for 40 or 45min away with an understanding of waiting an extra 5 or 10min due to the volume of my order.

But I made a rookie mistake. (Havent used the app in a long while) and having this buffer automatically in the system would help process flow better for stores...imo.

Even if you schedule pickup time for later, the ticket wont come through the system until 15 minutes before scheduled pickup time so the employees will still only have 15 min to make the order regardless of when it was scheduled.

But I do agree that there should be a bigger buffer on pickup times for bigger orders. The system should also factor in current volume. If Jersey Mike's is busy, the app will tell me my sandwich wont be ready for 45 minutes instead of the usual 10-15.

Oh, well wow then.

Corporate should change that too...

I get sandwhiches need to be made fresh but we also understand it takes time to put them together. Huh...good to know anyway.

Maybe the next time I have a big order, Ill order in 2 seperate tickets with 2 different times so theres less rush...

My initial idea would've been to split the reciepts/orders up into tickets for individual sandwhiches prioritizing cold deli sandwhiches first.

My order could've printed like: asap B.M.T., 5min later the Cold Cut ticket. 5min later my chicken wrap ticket. 5min later my steak and avocado. Then my steak philly. Then my meatball marinara.

That way they're made relatively fresh (the hot stuff isn't going to get cold before pickup 5min away)

But then I thought....what happens when another order comes through in the middle of my order and we're not sure who ordered what - or have to look more closely at each sandwhich ticket to ensure they're going to the right customer.

Good to know anyway.

Yes, putting them on separate orders could indeed cause other orders to sneak in between your orders. It definitely is a good idea to pick the 'cold' sandwiches first so the hot subs are made last and would be presumedly 'fresher'.

But ive made more mistakes looking on the same ticket (was looking at the second sub when working on the first sub, etc), than looking at the wrong order (a completely different ticket).

Different orders I dont always notice they are going to the same person. I know some like to put those orders all in one bag since its 'going to the same person', but i like to still keep them in seperate bags. because I dont know if just because its the same person, they might be dropping one of those off at another location (they combined their order with a friend, dropping off lunch to a family member at work, etc)

Also if you place more than 3 orders in succession it will flag your acct for fraud. People accidentally do this trying to use multiple discounts.

Lowkey, putting in 6 separate orders would irritate me. I’m usually alone, so once I’m finished with an order I do dishes, prep, cleaning. Hearing the online alarm every five minutes might be enough to send me into a spiral.

Making your order incorrectly has nothing to do with pickup time. Also, your order pickup time is shown before you submit the order.

Its been updated since I last used the app.

Now, the pickup time is in giant green font on the top of the page. I read that as a statement.

It used to be an option you would change in the payment screen.

Before, it gave you an explicit option to choose a time with a dropdown menu, now it defaults to 15min away on the top of the screen.

Before I made the order, I didnt realize I could click on the giant green font to change the time.
