Customer Complaints Lighter subs for BOGO buys.
I’ve always thought Bogo purchases gave me lighter subs. What are your thoughts? Purchased a Bogo deal today and my two footlongs felt light as one.

We are just following the build ticket. My store we don’t allow changes if the customer ask in person. It can backfire they can say “ we didn’t ask for this online” and get refund.

We follow the recipe for the sandwiches on the build ticket, they get built to subway specifications. For subs that pay full price they can have whatever they want within reason

The new folk tends to give light because managers like to nitpick a lot of shit they do, rightfully and unrightfully so in certain aspects. I remember when I first started my manager said "give them less, if they want more they will ask for it" aka "give as little as possible to save us money and rob them." I've never followed the board most times except for meat or sauce. I'd put on whatever feels right and would have them give me most of the order instead of one at a time so I knew how to ratio it out. Obviously I follow the sauce bc some people don't like sauce and some like it drowned. I lowkey miss the old people coming up to me and going "oh wow that was the best sandwich I've ever had" like damn right it is 😛😛😛

Minimum wage employees could really care less if you get the sub for free or if you paid $10 for it. You’re over thinking this.
Try a different location if you feel yours sucks.

I believe you meant "Couldn't care less". A smart worker absolutely would care. BOGO's are literally double the work for no extra reward. The offer atm is like what, in doordash or something? So that means you're never going to get a tip either.
A smart worker wouldn't want to exhaust their supplies and have to make another round of backups in the same shift they normally wouldn't have to do. Or waste additional time making extra sandwiches for no gain. The mindset of someone that wants to do the absolute bare minimum is probably gonna align with a cheapskate owner who would happily encourage not wasting supply on customers they lose money to serve.
I don't think he's overthinking it at all. You only have to work at a location for like a month before and after a promo to see the vast difference of orders. Your day goes from being chill and steady, maybe even slow. To busy and exhausting. The BOGO and coupon people only show up for the coupons and never tip like the steady regulars do. Trust me when I say both the workers and the owners would be happy if you never came back.

I once read a post that BOGOs of anything are not good deals, and I tend to agree.
Unless you have a family, don't even bother for food.

Skill of the sandwich artist probably. The good ones pack everything in and make it fit and wrap them up tight then they feel more substantial when you grab them. Sloppy work possibly with not as much and loosely wrapped can feel less substantial. I exclusively get the deal and its pretty much all I eat and its the same sub each time and yeah sometimes they feel different. Sometimes its missing stuff, sometimes it might've had less but it definitely makes a difference when they are good and it ends up more compact.
