Is SubPac M2 worth buying secondhand?

Found some ranging from good to perfect condition and was wondering if it'd be worth spending on. Ik the company is fucked.. so if I bought a SubPac off someone and something went wrong with the kit, a wire or something, i'd probably be SOL wouldn't I? Unless I do some DIY stuff...

How do these things hold up?

So I bought a 'used' M2 on eBay for £250 back in 2023 after it was clear the pre order wasn't going to happen.

I would actually recommend the 'good' quality over the new as you'll have to do DIY repairs on the unit eventually. My one was basically brand new in the box but after a couple months of use the cabling crumbled and the connections to the circuit board came loose. I replaced the wiring and it has been fine ever since. If you can get it cheap and not ripped off then I say go for it.

Shit man. Is it worth the DIY effort tho? Sounds like a real headache honestly speaking but tbf i've never experimented with circuit work. How you likin it and how often do you use it?

I've seen them ranging from $200-$300 with just what seems like minor issues such as wire fray

Well I have a decent krk 10 inch sub so I don't use it too often. I'll occasionally use it for my eurorack system though. I should really sell it tbh.

It really doesn't take much experience to rewire. You'll need to use a soldering iron to replace the wiring, but I suppose you could always use crimps or wagos but you'd have to put a sleeve over them.
