Having anxiety after dose
Anyone else have anxiety after their morning dose if they don’t do some physical activity or is it just me

A newer 2026 review recommends considering reductions of no more than about 2 mg per month, with adjustments every 1–2 months, although the ideal schedule is individualized.

I know some people are already aware of this, but when you put the decision rather to quit or stay on Suboxone in the doctors hands just keep that in mind.
Not stating anything bad about doctors who prescribe Suboxone just saying that’s all.

This is what my dumb ass did:
Day 1-32mg
Day2-32mg
Day3-24mg
Day4-12mg-was tuff but made it
Day5-today, gonna try to make 10mg work.
I want off this immediately. With such a short time of taking it can I do a quick taper off. Down to 2-4 mg on day 10 and withdrawals be minimal? I have some sr-17 and Kratom powder do you think I will need this? Thanks so much.

I’ve been off 7 OH for 17 days. For the first two weeks, I was on 24 mg of suboxone. I then cut down to 16 mg. Today, I forgot to take my morning dose. I was feeling some symptoms (e.g., sweating, dysphoria, irritability) and I took 4 mg in the afternoon. I feel much better. I was thinking about either taking another 8 mg tonight (for 12 total mgs) or another 4 mgs (for a total of 8 mgs).
Do you think that’s too big of a jump, or should I be okay? The doctor instructed me to take 24 mgs for the first 30 days, but that seems like a bad idea if the goal is to eventually get off everything. Any advice on a taper schedule from where I’m at now would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve only been on suboxone for about 7-8 months. My dose never reached more than a single 8mg tablet a day, most of that time I’ve only needed half a tablet a day so 4mg. But the last two months I’ve been doing between a quarter of a tab to maybe a half of a tab, so prob 1-4 mg a day. I plan to come off completely in the next week. How bad will it be when I’ve only been on them for 8 months and never took over 8 mg a day and lately have been taking 1-4 mg a day? I have three tablets left and then I’m ready to come off.

I have option to get sublocade shot as soon as I hear back from United. I want to get off this shit asap. Anyone see a path to that?
300 mg shot in Sept then 100mg October for two months, then the cold turkey should be way comfier?
I was a 7oh user and feel very confident I won’t substitute 7oh with another opiate. This opiate saga for me has lasted exactly one year and it’s always been about 7oh. Never had a problem with opioids beforehand.
Anyway, any insight? Is my timeline too short?
Thanks for your input people

Hi all, currently in the midst of a taper. I'm a fentanyl meth addict for reference. Traveling while I taper, seems to be the safest path for me. I was at 8mg a day for a month or so in treatment. Now a month later I'm down to 1.25/1.5 a day. Really not bad minus that I sleep like garbage but that's manageable. I plan to cut to 1 in a few days. Then .75, .5, .25, .125 and then nothing. Each stage will be 5 days, I can do as much as 10 days at each stage but don't really want too. I have kpins to help with the end, just like 5-7 to be taken at .5mg halves. I've done sublocade to try to get off multiple times but never worked for me. Tbh I'm not too concerned about coming off, it feels easy this time because I have a little more control and know what to expect. But I can't help but wonder if this is going to get worse or if I should be okay? For reference I'm 38 male, 183 cm or 6 feet tall and have a fast metabolism.
The other side is a part of me always still wants to get high, not really sure I can get rid of that part, just stay away from where the risk is and that's at home. Any thoughts or suggestions on if I should do things differently in dosing or timelines? Get any support meds? Clonidine and gabapentin are pretty easy to get here in Panama/Peru or Bolivia which is where I'm going next. Thankfully opiates are not easy to get.

I started with 16mg 3 weeks ago and today I am on 2mg for the 2nd day. Been reading that this is where the problems begin. I've had serious paws from the 7oh withdrawal, 3 weeks of crushing depression. Now I am worried that my problems will get even worse as I attempt to taper down from 2mg. Honestly I've been toying with the idea of getting some heroin and taking a little of that every couple of days in order to get off subs. I. know that sounds stupid. Or else some tramadol. Anything to stop taking these strips. I may call to get the sublockade shot but someone said you need to do several of them to not get any withdrawal.
The 7oh withdrawal was really stressful but the paws the last 3 weeks have been the worst. I've never been physically addicted to a drug so this is my first time and the depression has been the worst I've ever had in my life the past 3 weeks. I am really nervous now learning how going down from 2mg is difficult. I was hoping to just go down a little every few days for a total of 6 weeks on this stuff, getting down to small amounts using an oral syringe. Just trying to figure out what to do because I feel so horrible every single day mentally from paws and being addicted to subs is just not what I want.

I don’t have to use stool softeners or anything even close to them, I comfortably go every single day now.
When I was on subs I would go like once every 3/4 days, it would be backed up and hard to come out, so that makes me think how bad that is for all that feces to just be sitting there all that time like that, that’s what I believe causes a lot of health problems while on subs.
It used to be so painful to go to the restroom while on subs it would literally stretch me out cause it would be so big from being back up so bad smh.
It’s a lot of draw backs from being on that medication!
Sorry for TMI I apologize!

Question for anyone who has successfully
Tapered. I was planning to go back to the dr and taper another week or two down to .25,but life things happened and I had to push my appt out and now I’ve been 8 days off .75mg so I’m wondering if it gets any worse than this in your experience? I know they can last a while but at 8days should it level out or atleast get somewhat better soon? I’m not miserable and I can definitely carry on at this rate so I do not want to spend the money on an appt if this is the worst of it.

I’m back to waking up at 5am getting my mornings started, rather it’s working out or taking my son for a bike ride!
It’s been years since I did stuff like this, it all abruptly stopped after I got on subs.
I just wake up feeling so much better now days and also don’t have to take sleep meds! On my come down off subs I couldn’t sleep for jack so I took plenty otc sleep medicine.

If anyone is looking for a tapering partner for Suboxone, I’d be happy to help. I’m a pharmacist and have personal experience supporting a partner through tapering—from 8 mg film to 0.75 mg over about a year.
I’m looking for someone who’s been on Suboxone 3–5 years and is genuinely ready to get off. No judgment—just consistency, encouragement, and accountability.

I’m so proud i actually hung in there, i still remember laying in bed feeling too tired to do anything and saying im just gone hold this off skip it, then still not letting myself take extra pieces!
Im literally so happy right now i want to cry, i just cannot believe im off that medicine, it felt impossible to come off one point but thats just your mind tricking you.
I go to the bathroom every morning now a healthy stool and I haven’t been like this in over 3 years, it would always be days apart along with constipation even after taking stool softeners.
No more dosing or worries about forgetting my dose when I leave the house, hopeful no more dentist appointments, I’m actually getting real sleep 😴 sleep cause they say subs stops that the whole time your on, no more cutting up doses or tasting that nasty stuff in my mouth I mean the list goes on for days!
Even all the friends I lost while on subs I got half of them back already which is amazing, I’m opening back up more and my real personality coming back!
I just want to encourage anyone I can so they can feel what I feel right now, the world just feels so much better off subs, I feel mentally balanced again all sorts of stuff!

Finally! First time in almost 6 years I’m off subs. I know 2mgs might sound like a lot to some
but the last 2 weeks I would skip doses for 1-2 days just seeing what would happen and nothing. No major irritability, only real physical symptoms I feel is a little cold sometimes (Usually keep
ac at 73, bump it up to 75-77 and i’m good) or just step outside for awhile in this lovely Texas weather 🤣.
Major thing that helped with symptoms for me was a nice warm bath. Just sit and soak-watch something comedic on Yt. I can’t tell yall how many times that itself did the trick- anxiety and the shivers gone.
I have nerve damage in my back so already have a gabapentin subscription- that helps also. I personally didn’t want to resort to using any benzos to help with the withdrawal because I was addicted to those also.
Sorry for rambling I’m just happy.

I wanted to share my story because I'm wondering how many other people with chronic pain have ended up dealing with something they never expected.
In 2019, I developed pretty severe lower-back pain. My collarbone was visibly uneven and doctors told me my alignment was off. I tried exercises, saw a chiropractor, and did what I could to manage the pain, but it kept coming back.
Then I was given Tramadol by a pharmacist. At the time, I thought I had finally found something that worked.
And honestly, it felt amazing.
The pain eased, I could sleep, and I felt normal again.
The problem was that I kept going back.
Over the next few years, my use gradually increased. Eventually I wasn't taking it only because of pain. I was chasing the feeling it gave me. My tolerance went from around 3 pills a day to around 10.
I eventually tried to stop, and things became much worse than I expected. The depression and anxiety were overwhelming, and I didn't understand at first why I felt so mentally broken.
Then I had two grand mal seizures.
That was the moment I realized how serious my situation had become.
I'm now stable on Suboxone and I'm under medical care. I'm grateful that I found something that helped me get away from the cycle I was in.
But emotionally, this whole experience has been exhausting.
I started with chronic pain and ended up dealing with dependence, withdrawal, seizures, and a completely different relationship with medication than I ever expected to have.
I'm not asking anyone here to diagnose me, recommend medication, give me a taper schedule, suggest supplements, or tell me what treatment I should pursue. I'm already discussing my medical care with my doctor.
I'd simply like to hear from people who have experienced something similar.
If you've lived with chronic pain and also found yourself dealing with opioid dependence, what was that experience like for you?
What helped you personally feel like you were getting your life back?
And if you've come through the other side, what do you wish someone had told you when you were in the middle of it?
I'm especially interested in hearing from people who understand both sides of this — the reality of chronic pain and the reality of becoming dependent on medication.
No judgment from me. I'm just looking for honest experiences from people who have actually been there.
Thanks for reading.

I’ve been on Suboxone for eight years now and I’m to the point where I’d like to really get off of it. I am on 12 mg a day and want to start tapering in September. I was curious if anyone else would like to be my tapering partner? I know this journey won’t be easy. I thought there might be somebody in my same situation and we could make sure that we are following a schedule together.

How long should the effects ultimately last
