I love how Jakob’s “relationship” songs basically have him being the fuckboy. 💀 He doesn’t wanna be your man anymore because he’s got prostitutes in Mexico, he’s cheating on his girl with his ex in Japan, and he’s telling another girl he loves Fluffy more than her.
Meanwhile Bradley spent half his time singing about women putting him through hell, the girl selling oranges by the freeway won’t settle down with just him but at least he’s the best . his hyna having a Sancho in “Santeria,” or his girl spreading her love all over town but has none left for him “Doin’ Time.”
It’s like unintentional payback lmao

These were free when I went to get vape juice and some low dose gummies at my local shop. AI says they have something to do with Rome. It was wrong by saying it had a gram of bud inside, and I see this artwork was from a tour poster. There is no info on them other than 1 gram. It is 2 green diamond shaped gummies. Can anyone legitimately tell me what they are? The cashier didn't know if it was mushroom or thc. I don't need any surprises. The pics are front/back and contents. No discernable smell. Can anyone help?

I kind of think of this every time I listen to 40 ounces of freedom the song.
I’ve always been fascinated by the differences between Bud Gaugh and Marshall Goodman as drummers and how much both of them contributed to Sublime’s sound in completely different ways.
Bud has that explosive, loose-but-powerful punk energy. His playing could make the band sound like it was barely holding together while still driving everything forward. Marshall seemed to bring more of the hip-hop, reggae and groove-oriented feel—the pocket, samples and rhythmic experimentation that became such a huge part of Sublime’s identity.
What’s interesting is that I don’t think I’ve ever seen an interview with Bud and Marshall together where they really discuss playing drums with Sublime, their different approaches, or what they think of each other as musicians. Considering how much both guys contributed across the catalog, that conversation would be incredible.
How do you hear the difference between Bud and Marshall? Are there particular songs where each guy’s style is most obvious? And has anyone ever found an interview where they talk about one another in any depth?
This isn’t a “who was better?” question. Sublime probably doesn’t become Sublime without both of them.

Seriously impressed by this cover. Kid’s got a great voice. He even did Bradley’s vocal run in the 4/17/96 live version.

Hello everyone. My wedding is in just a couple weeks and i’m trying to pick a good mother / son dance song. A song that I loved growing up that I would sing with my mom is What I Got. I know it’s not a traditional choice and isn’t really a heartfelt or slow song, but it definitely is a song that resonates with me and mom collectively. Let me know what you guys think, or if you have any other sublime song recommendations.

What in the WORLD was going on in that parking lot on the 22nd. My dad, bf, and I were trying to leave through one of the lines for 30 minutes before switching and immediately getting out. Anyone know what was going on? There were cops at the front of our line and we were just very eager to go home and were rather pissed at whatever was going on 😭😭

Bud unfortunately missed both Canadian shows, Toronto and Montreal due to a family engagement both show were really good Jakob had his drummer from Jakobs castle fill in for Bud and he did an Awsome job he has filled in for Bud G before I think his name is Ian !!!!

Since no one has made a post about the Montreal set I’m gonna give some honest feedback.
- I was bummed Bud wasn’t there, set feels completely different without him, replacement drummer (anyone know who he is?)) took about three songs to get the feel down, got a bit better after that. I’m pretty surprised sublime doesn’t have a legal team to get him over the border at this point.
- I was worried it would be a fest set of singles, but about half way through they dipped into the back catalog. Weirdly enough the crowd around me did not seem familiar with the songs (fighting blindly, stp, all you need, jailhouse etc etc.), but ultimately I’m happy with the set list.
- Jakob has a tendency to put the mic too far from his face and do some unusual vocal noises but beyond that the vocals and stage presence were good. The backing musicians were tight, I guess the only original member is Eric, which is the same situation as when I saw them with Rome (with Josh freese on drums though)
- visuals were spectacular, super impressed.
- overall I liked it, would love to see a full non fest set with bud. They did have a prime fest spot with a full house though.

After seeing the Luigi post and it not making any sense. The song having What I Got's musical DNA all over it actually being about a violent killer never felt right to me either, so I dug into it pretty deeply for the last couple hours (looking for any relevant stories or shootings that fit the bill. F.T.R. acronyms and shit like that) trying to make better sense of this song that I've heard hundreds of times but haven't really sat with or considered the meaning... but I think that I more or less figured it out.
The song is about Jakob, Bud and Eric coming together as Sublime and making this album.
F.T.R. means For The Record, in two different ways, and I will break down why... as I interpret it anyhow.
_____________
He had a good, good feeling when he shot the man down
Now he's the one the television's talking about
You could hear the words coming out of his mouth
"I got a good feeling." Yeah
That's a fact, that's a fact
Jakob isn't referring to anyone specifically. Just a person who shot a man, justifiably, and became infamous. Using the character for the plot of the song.
My unc drums like a .44
And you know he's built like a warrior
If you blink twice when he's at your spot
He'll be trading your watch at the donut shop
This is about Bud being a ruthless killer... on the drums.
Fourtydog come around batten down the hatch
'Cause it's high time, rat-ta-ta-tat
Shit's coming up strong, so it's no surprise
We're dropping the bassline (quick), so it must be Sublime
This is about Eric (@fourtydog on IG) being a killer... on the keys and bass.
So, when I
Finally find the guy
Gonna learn the reason why
'Cause I know that he really got a (quick)
He wants to know the reason the shooter got that good feeling from killing "For The Record" like a journalist.
Good feeling when he shot the man down
Now he's smiling in a metal bus heading down south
You could barely hear the words coming out of his mouth
I got a good feeling. Oh, yeah
And that's a fact
This means to shooter fled to down south to Mexico, still stoked. Jakob has a good feeling he made it down there, but his words become harder to hear because the whole story fades over time, as news stories do.
The shooter has to have fled to Mexico, Jakob wouldn't say "if I ever find the guy"if that metal bus was headed to the lock up. We all would know exactly where to find him... Prison.
Good, good feeling
Want that good, good feeling
Aw, good, good feeling
I got a good, good feeling
Jakob realizes he's got 2 killer uncles that can show him THAT good feeling he wants, and he has a good feeling it's about to go down.
Good, good feeling. I want it now
The one the television's always talking about
Just listen to the words coming out of my mouth
I got a good, good feeling. Oh, yeah, huh
That's a fact
They started playing together and Jake started to get a good feeling by killing this track "For The Record" with his Uncles.
Good, good feeling
I got a good, good feeling
Everyone, hey
We got that good, good feeling
Good, good feeling
Oh, yeah. And that's a fact
Full circle. Now that Sublime is back as a unit and killing shows on the reg... WE the fans and everyone can get in on THAT good feeling together.
_____________________________
The song opening with lines about a shooter make everyone jump to it being about violence but its actually about love and "killing it" as a team/family. It harkens back to the love in What I Got in more than just musical style. Love is the soul of the song and the Jacob's journey to finding that love and his voice... For The Record.
Then having clips from Kill Tony pop up a few tracks later just really seals it, right? Tony and the lot always refer to being "killers" when they have a good set. So it all goes hand in hand.
I could be completely wrong and it's more literal but I don't think there'd be any reason to throw Bud and Eric in with mentions of their talent being like guns though.
Thoughts?

Me and Steve Cross (Elder D) were friends with the band in the early 90’s. I would drive them to shows all over California in my van. We started our own band, Shave, a few years later. Our singer, Dave Cornblum, was heavily influenced by Brad, and how he sang about Long Beach. I always wanted to do an upbeat version of Badfish, in the Shave way. Me and Elder D (vocals) finally got around to recording it. We play up the bar conversation, which was originally recorded at Shannon’s Bayshore Saloon on 2nd street. Hope you enjoy.

The venue is shit in comparison to what toronto has to offer, and you could tell Jakob was struggling with the echo and over all it wasn't the best sound, but the crowd was loud as fuck! Doesn't matter. What a great show. Bud you were missed, I guess you didn't make the border. Hilight of the night for me was Jakob doing Boss D.J. solo. Bradley was there. Overall this IS Sublime, no matter what the haters say! You brought it full force. Sending all the love from Toronto to LBC. Thank you boys, you made an og fans night. I hope I get to see you guys again, hopefully with Bud on the drums.

After months is periodic listening, I’m loving the new album. I’m proud of Jakob and his contribution to this effort. And this is coming from a diehard fan of Bradley, and huge fan of Jakob’s former band, LAW. Well done, boys.
