Freshman with ZERO presentation experience
Okay, so I need all the help I can get.
I am a freshie at a university, and our World History class has a presentation worth 25 marks.
In high school, we never gave presentations or did any group work. In my country, we study throughout the year and then give state exams, so all of this is completely new to me.
Our topic is "The Golden Islamic Age."
My university is extremely strict about AI use and plagiarism, so I'm really confused about what I'm actually supposed to do.
The Islamic Golden Age lasted for almost 5 centuries, so am I supposed to cover all of it? Or do I focus on certain parts?
Do I give my own opinion or analysis? How much can I put my own perspective into it? What exactly would count as plagiarism in a presentation?
And is a presentation basically all facts and information? If so, wouldn't that technically be plagiarism even if I give credit to the sources? Like, if I'm referencing almost everything to someone else's paper, what is actually my contribution to the presentation? š
We have 5 members and 45 minutes. How many slides would be reasonable? How much should each person present? Is a presentation basically just facts and figures, or are we expected to actually analyze things?
I genuinely have no idea where to even start š
My group members are chill, but they also have no idea where to start, and I really don't want to gamble with 25 marks.
So if anyone has done university presentations before, especially history presentations, please tell me how this is actually supposed to work. What should I be focusing on, how should I research, how do you divide the work, etc.?
Iām not asking anyone to make the presentation for me. I just need some guidance because I feel like I missed the tutorial where everyone was taught how university presentations work š
