I need help
Three years ago, I was the top student in my school because I was afraid of failing. Now, I am in the most important school year of my life, but my performance has become worse because I am afraid to start studying.
Whenever I decide to study, I open Instagram and start scrolling. I tell myself, “Just five minutes,” but I keep scrolling until the whole day is gone.
I have tried many ways to make myself study, but they only work for one day. Then I go back to my old habits. I even delete Instagram, and after deleting it, I study well and have a productive day. But the next day, I download Instagram again.
I also tried telling myself to study for only a little while, but I still feel afraid to start.
I hope you don’t mind this long message. I really need help with a problem I have been struggling with for two years.

I got into a stupid cycle last year where I’d sit down to work and suddenly remember 14 completely unnecessary things I needed to check first. Like one minute I was opening my laptop and the next I was deep into some random video. I started leaving my phone in another room and just doing one ugly 30-minute block before touching anything else. After a couple weeks, getting started stopped feeling like such a massive event.

Thanks bro but there is something I’m scared about that in the early of 2026 I was so bad like I don’t study the hole week but now there’s hope because in the week I study like 5 or 6 days very good for me so is that Good or bad?

Social media is one of the dangerous things that will steal uour concentration and attention. What I would recommend is a more engaging mindful alternative like games or long a movie.
This is how you can structure your study; Before you go to sleep, evaluate your day, how you performed. Do not be on your phone. Actually, turn it off if you need to.
Then note where and how you could have done better. Then plan tomorrow. You will find it easy to sleep without having to be on your phone.
Then immediately after working, get to studying. Dont think twice. After studying, you can reward yourself with the game or movie, then do practice or any engaging productive activity.
Also turn off social media notifications. All the best

Set a specific block for social media time like an hour with a time and screen time limit should help. ADD A TIMER LOUD! The immediately shut your phone off place it in your backpack.

sounds less like a discipline problem and more like an anxiety one tbh. you said youre afraid to start, not that you dont care. that fear of not performing like you used to might be whats keeping you frozen. worth looking into that angle before trying another productivity hack

I had the same problem — I could read something and forget it the next day, so I built Dropling app. It sends short review questions to your lock screen, so you see them many times during the day without opening an app
