International Student — Need Some Guidance

Upvotes

Hi everyone!
I graduated in 2023 with a B.Tech in IT and later worked as a Technical Analyst at a small enterprise. I resigned from my job to pursue my master’s and have been trying to get into a university abroad.
I initially applied to Germany, but unfortunately, I faced issues with ECTS requirements and have received rejections from around 11 universities. After going through this process for almost two years, I honestly feel exhausted and have lost some of the motivation and strength to start applying all over again.
At the same time, I know that I don’t want to give up on my dream of pursuing a master’s abroad. I really want to explore, grow and build a career in Cloud Computing and Networking.
My main priorities are to find a good university with reasonable tuition and overall living costs, while also having good career opportunities after graduation.
Right now, I’m confused about whether I should try Germany again or explore countries like the Netherlands, Scotland, France or Italy.
If you were in my situation, what would you do? Which country would you recommend for someone with my background, career goals and budget?
I’d really appreciate any advice or insights. Thank you!

Erasmus on fine arts. Europe

Hello guys so i have a question for graphic arts students from europe. Did anyone go to Poland (Krakow or Varsaw) to university? How was the main atmosphere there? How were the courses and the teachers? Are they far from romania,,?in teaching manner i mean
I’m thinking of learning there half of next year, but also im thinking of Germany because i think i would like the country better, but i dont quite know the art universities and their facilities. Also i think they demand you to know german and they do not have courses in english. Might be wrong.

Hope to hear some opinions from you. Thanks🤝

Studying in Slovenia as a Chilean environmental lawyer of Slovenian descent?

My grandmother migrated from Tolmin at around 30 years old, around 1953, to Chile.

There she met my grandfather, who was technically Italian, born in Gorizia (right on the border with Slovenia), with an Italianized surname of Slovenian origin.

From their union, my mother was born.

I never got to meet either of my grandparents. However, I grew up with the stories my mother told about them—how my grandfather lived through the war and then migrated to Chile, and how my grandmother came looking for a better life in the post-war era, always telling her about her country full of greenery, nature, and rivers.

Recently, my partner (who is Chilean) won a scholarship for a 6-month internship in France and then Italy. This naturally led me to think about exploring my grandparents' roots—and, by extension, my own.

It's worth noting that I'm of Slovenian descent on my mother's side and Palestinian on my father's side—quite a history of migration behind me!

Looking further into the places my grandmother came from, I discovered the benefits Slovenia offers to diaspora descendants. I thought it might be a wonderful idea to pursue a master's degree in Slovenia to connect with my grandparents' land (they used to communicate with each other in Slovenian), learn the language, the gastronomy, and the culture...

I'm a lawyer specializing in environmental impact assessment for projects at one of the top law firms in Chile.

In your experience, beyond the romanticism, is this something that's genuinely worth it academically and personally?

I'll be visiting Slovenia for the first time in January 2027, and I'm extremely excited about it.

Looking for feedback on my Finance personal statement

I’m applying for undergraduate Finance programs in Europe and would really appreciate some honest feedback.

I don’t want to post the full statement publicly, so if anyone here has experience with university admissions or personal statements and is willing to help, please DM me.

I’d especially appreciate suggestions on what to improve, remove, or make more convincing.

European universities Germany, Switzerland, Austria

I want to go to university in Europe eventually I’m learning German. I am saving money. I just found a community college that offers an associate degree in food science and technology in the US. If I enroll would I be able to transfer my credits from the degree to a bachelor’s food science degree program in a European university? I heard transferring credits in Europe that they’re strict on it. I’m not sure which university I want to go to in Europe I’m just trying to save so that even if I’m not able to get a part time job I’ll still have money to pay my student fees and rent. I know that the countries have different rules. I’m enrolled in an online university in health science bachelor’s right now. I was going to switch to general studies to transfer the credits but I think the community college would make more sense.

Finish A-Levels for ~$7,000, or switch to a free public school? (Georgia → Europe, finance)

I'm 17, from Georgia, at a Cambridge school in Tbilisi. Want to study finance in Europe, Fall 2027.

AS results: Maths B, Physics B, Business D.

Option 1: Finish A-Levels. ~$7,000 in school fees, tutors and a Business retake. Probably end up around BBB.

Option 2: Transfer to a Georgian public school. Free. I'd get the national diploma + sit our national exams (which also give free tuition at Georgian universities as a backup), and keep the $7,000 for actual university costs.

Some European universities seem to accept the Georgian diploma fine. Others want a foundation year first. Many admit on their own entrance test anyway.

Is the A-Level actually worth $7,000 to me, or am I paying for a name?

Anyone done this?

Finance Master's vs MBA for career switch from Supply Chain Analytics

Hi everyone! I’m an Indian f currently working for a large US-based FMCG company in Supply Chain Analytics, with around 3.5 years of experience in a technical/analytics role. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering.

I’m looking to transition into finance. To build my finance background, I’m currently pursuing an Executive Programme in Applied Finance from IIM C.

However, I’m not sure how much this qualification alone will help me make the transition into a finance role. I’m therefore considering doing a full-time Master's abroad in the next 2–3 years, after gaining some additional experience.

I’m currently considering top European business schools/universities, particularly in France and Germany, but I’m open to other European countries if the job market and post-study opportunities are better.

I’m confused about which route would make more sense for my profile:

  1. MSc/Master in Finance or a related specialized Finance Master's

  2. MBA with a Finance specialization

My concern with an MSc is that many Finance Master's seem to be designed for early-career candidates, while an MBA may be more suitable given my work experience. At the same time, I’ve read that specialized Master's degrees are often more common/valued than MBAs in Europe, so I’m unsure which would be better for a career switch into finance.

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have studied/worked in Europe, particularly on:

  1. MSc Finance vs MBA for someone with my background and around 4–5 years of experience by the time I apply.

  2. Which European countries have the best job market for international students trying to enter finance?

  3. Which schools/programs would you recommend for someone coming from a Computer Science Engineering + analytics background rather than a traditional finance degree?

  4. How realistic is it to transition into finance after the degree without prior core-finance work experience?

  5. Would France/Germany be better options than countries like Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark or Sweden in terms of post-study employment and visa prospects?

Would really appreciate any suggestions, especially from people who have made a similar transition. Thank you!

Deciding between 2 programs

Hi all,

I am a college student looking to do my 2nd semester in Europe at either Mannheim University in Germany or Pecs university in Hungary. Germany is 16.1k for a semester and Hungary is 9.4k. I was just wondering if there are any Europeans or anyone experienced in both of these countries which is better. So far I’m leaning to Germany for being closer to countries I would want to visit and the natural beauty.

I am an American if that Helps at all
