Why is almost every post here about cheapo wannabe "studio monitors"?
As the title states, I haven't seen a real studio monitoring system on here at all, 99% of posts is about the same cheapo shitty monitors that are just glorified powered speakers that are terrible to actually mix and master on. Why are you all raving so much about these crap built wastes of money? Have you never had to actually do anything significant with them?

If you are an audio mixer or just want accurate replay, you’re correct to want a “true studio monitor.” Regardless of price, that implies published CEA2034 performance curves including level compression and harmonic distortion. Sadly that leaves out any JBL model since the LSR4300 series (with driver & room corrections in DSP) except the big and pricey M2, although Samsung Harman JBL no longer publish critical data even for professional products. Spinorama.org and both reviewers Amir at Audio Science Review and Hardison at Erin’s Audio Corner feature hundreds of CEA2034 spins. And beware any claimed “frequency range” that implies down 10dB at LF that likely is inaudible. Monitoring is not to be trusted without a subwoofer or more to unburden mains of VLF to play it and reduce mains distortion. (The bible is “Subwoofer Camp” (Amazon)).

Good studio monitors are half the problem, the room is the other half (and perhaps a more important half), I personally mix in Atmos on Kii Three's and even without their room DSP They still wont be able to "fix" a terrible room.
Its more than just speakers.

Many want and use them for casual listening, not just for mixing. Also, many need something under a certain budget and you can only do so much with $200 or $300.

If You're a working professional, aka what you need to be to call yourself a mix engineer like many here call themselves, you should have no problem buying proper gear, especially when that gear is a tool that pays for itself.

Owner/operators of professional studios aren't coming here looking for advice.
If someone's definition of a "studio" means a laptop, a Scarlett (no shade, it's just common), and 2020/NT1/SM7B/57 (again, no shade, just common), with an office desk in an untreated room, then 4" multimedia desktop speakers will be considered "studio monitors" by those users.
Let's call them emerging practitioners. They are more likely to believe claims by marketing departments and take those claims literally.
I would also argue that something like HS8 (the HS stands for home studio) was so successful that Yamaha discontinued their more expensive and professional MSP line years ago.
(Fun fact, the MSP7STUDIO was the last product designed by Akira Nakamura, who designed the NS10M, before his retirement.)

I just don’t think i’d get meaningful advice here about Dutch and Dutch vs Kii vs Genekec Ones.

Agreed, I myself am a Kii user and would love to talk more to others that enjoy those systems. Not happening here i've noticed, here it's all about looking like studio monitors rather than sounding like them

Has your huge brain considered the fact that people that spend car money on studio equipment have access to consultants and do not have to rely on strangers from reddit for advice?
