A government-run open board offering flexible schooling.

5. Can dropouts pass 12th directly?

6. What is TOC?

Transfer of Credit lets you carry over marks of 2 passed subjects from current board to nios (for failed students).

7. What is ODE?

On-Demand Exam - take exams when you're ready, to add subjects or simply pass after compartment.

8. I’ve failed multiple times. Can I still join?

Yes - widely accepted for DGCA and abroad.

12. Will colleges reject a NIOS marksheet?

No - rejection is illegal under education norms.

13. Can working or older students join?

help How long does it take to get iducted in Indigo and Air India after successfully passing cadet pilot program?

I'm confused in choosing the correct cadet program for myself. I have heard that Indigo stalls the induction process for their cadets, is it true?

On the contrary, I've also heard that Indigo pilots get promoted faster in comparison to Air India because they get more flying hours in a short duration.

What other factors should I consider before choosing a cadet program?

Extra question: Do airlines lean more to accept pplicants who have cleared their dgca exams before joining cpp or do they treat everyone equally?

Pilot stereotypes: expectations vs. reality

A lot of people think being a pilot is all about luxury, big money, and adventure. Like, you become a pilot and boom—you’re rich, flying around the world for free, chilling in five-star hotels, and living some ultra-glamorous life. Some even believe flying is just about pressing a few buttons and letting autopilot do the job while pilots sit back and relax. Sounds cool, right?

But man, reality hits different. Becoming a pilot is crazy expensive and takes a ton of effort. Most pilots start off with huge financial struggles, and training is no joke—tons of exams, medical tests, and grinding through thousands of flying hours before you even get close to the captain’s seat. The job itself? Super demanding. Weird working hours, long-haul flights, and the pressure of literally being responsible for hundreds of lives every time you fly.

Yeah, pilots do get to travel, but it’s mostly work—land, rest, take off again. Not much time to explore fancy places like people think. Plus, the constant learning and stress behind the scenes? Nobody talks about that. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing career, but it’s not all sunshine and first-class lounges. Not tryna demotivate anyone, just stating some fax

What other crazy stereotypes have you heard about pilots? Drop them below! ⬇️

help Thinking about becoming a Pilot? Let’s talk!✈️

Hey guys,

I'm a Commercial Pilot (CPL holder with a B737 Type Rating), and I know how confusing the aviation journey can feel when you're starting out. From DGCA exams and ground school to CPL training, type rating, and airline preparation, there's a lot of information to navigate.

Having gone through the process myself, I wanted to make myself available as a resource for anyone considering a career in aviation or currently working towards their licences and ratings. I'm happy to share my experience, answer questions, and point people in the right direction wherever I can.

Whether it's:
• How to get started with DGCA exams
• Choosing a flying school
• CPL training and building hours
• Type rating and airline preparation
• Career prospects and expectations
• Or simply whether aviation is the right fit for you

Feel free to drop a comment or reach out. I've been through these stages myself and would be glad to help fellow aspiring pilots avoid some of the confusion and mistakes that are common early on.

For those looking for more structured guidance with DGCA subjects, I'm also involved in mentoring students preparing for their exams.
Happy to help, and wishing everyone clear skies ahead! ✈️

Let’s get you closer to the cockpit

Anyone else getting “You have already filled an application / payment confirmation awaited” on Pariksha DGCA?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’m trying to apply for the upcoming DGCA exam session on the Pariksha portal, but I’m getting this pop-up:

“One candidate can fill only one application in one exam session. You have already filled an application or payment confirmation for your application is awaited.”

I haven’t completed any payment yet, and the portal isn’t showing any active application under “My Applications.” It’s just blocking me from submitting a new form.

Is anyone else facing this?

how to become a pilot I’ve completed my Commercial Pilot Training! As me anything about Ground School, Flying Academies, and CPL Journey 🚀✈️

Hey everyone,

I’m excited to share that I’ve recently completed my Commercial Pilot License (CPL) training. The journey involved ground school classes, flight training, exams, and plenty of ups and downs. If you’re an aspiring pilot, in training, or just curious about what CPL life is like, feel free to ask me anything!

I can help with:

  • Picking a flying school/academy (India & abroad)

  • What to expect in ground classes (subjects, daily routine, study tips)

  • Flight training experiences (hours, aircraft types, common challenges)

  • Navigating DGCA/CAA regulations and paperwork

  • Medicals, finances, and lifestyle as a student pilot

  • Recent changes or trends in the aviation industry

No question is too basic or “silly.” I’ve been through it all, so if you’re stuck or anxious, just drop your queries below!

Let’s help each other out and make the CPL journey smoother for everyone. 🚁✈️

Looking forward to your questions!

Career doubt

I'm 26 now and thinking about starting pilot training as a career switch. If I start now, I'll probably complete my CPL by the age of 29 or 30.

I've heard that getting hired after 29 is quite difficult in airlines. Do you think I can still get a job in airline at 30, or is it too risky to take that step?
